  “We were served by Holly who didn’t rush us and allowed us plenty of time to peruse the menu. Drink prices were normal restaurant prices. The food was well cooked, plentiful and hot. Service was quick and the staff were all friendly. We will definitely be returning.”

  “Food was amazing, vibe totally let down by the staff. Not one smile all night and visibly eye rolled when we paid for some of our meal with a voucher we got as a present. No conversation between staff and customes and as the pub was almost empty, they still did not acknowledge us when we left......more staff training needed, such a shame as the food was gorgeous”

  “It was the second time eating here and the food was great. We had the morroccan lamb, garlic mushrooms, steak and sticky toffee pudding cooked and presented really well. Customer service is great with a special mention to our waiter Reece who was polite, attentive and really welcoming, would definitely recommend. Thank you :)”

  “Booked here for my daughters birthday, I'd been here a few weeks before with my work colleagues and was impressed. We we're seated fine, waited 15 minutes before we got someones attention to take our drinks order, had to go to the bar and ask for water for the table, bearing in mind the place wasn't overly busy, eventually got our drinks had to ask someone to take our food order, the young girl who was looking after the area we were in was in a world of her own, cleaning tables but not actually finishing one before moving onto the next, the other staff were working like crazy, I was ready for walking out and going to the Chinese takeaway. Starters came all good, waited 30 minutes for plates to be cleared then 10 minutes after the mains came, food was good only complaint chicken on the skewer could've been a bit warmer, we didn't finish our food as we'd got past it, never got asked if we wanted another drink or were we enjoying the food. We asked for the bill and took our desserts home with us because at this point the evening was a damp squib. So my daughter had a rubbish experience at Ego and vowed never to return.”

  “Called in unexpectedly and was greeted by such a fabulous team of staff - felt welcomed immediately on entering . The restaurant looked to be fully booked but Amy managed to allocate a table for us . Asked us very politely to wait at the bar and order a drink , then came to show us to our table . I have to say from the bar staff to the servers to the chef and kitchen staff - everyone smiled , were pleasant and relaxed despite being exceptionally busy. Food excellent, well presented, good quality and tasty ! Sea bass - plentiful with a lovely combination of accompaniments and served hot . My partners chicken meal was equally as tasty and as requested not served with lemon Desserts of crumble with custard (nice to have the option of custard or ice cream ) and sour cherries with meringue cherry ice cream and cream were a delight although I would have liked more meringue pieces . Full marks to Ruby our server , fantastic service , smiling and made us feel so welcomed and valued . The background music was at a low level so as not to deafen you ! Able to chat without raising your voice . Amy , if you are “the leader” you should be immensely proud of yourself and staff . We only called into The Wyke Lion on impulse but will definitely be returning .”

  “Holly was amazing, very attentive. She made sure we had drinks, let me order the 2 for 1 cocktails and have one now and one later. Brought our food and was overall friendly and brilliant! Would definitely come again! The food was amazing, had the 3 courses for £30pp and definitely impressed!!”

  “Lovely setting, poorly trained staff and mediocre food. Waiters more interested in their chicken dippers than asking if we wanted another drink or our desserts.”

  “Great place and aesthetically pleasing inside. Food is not that good to my taste. Small portion and long waiting time to be served. Fried breaded chicken was quite dry, staff should have asked if we’re ok or not or if we need anything. We have to go over the counter to asked for mayonnaise which takes couple of minutes to get served. Otherwise I still recommend this place to anyone”

  “Visited for the first time since it changed to Ego. Pleasantly surprised by the new look and quality of the meal. It made a change to go out for a meal that was full of flavour rather than a bland prepacked reheat meal. We got what we paid for, a quality meal. Prix Fixe menu is good value for money.”

  “Visited Ego on Friday for my Mum's birthday and had a lovely meal with attentive and friendly service from Ethan and the team as a whole. Large drinks selection with some good alcohol-free options and all the food we had was lovely. A nice atmosphere and they really looked after my Mum on her birthday, definitely recommend signing up to the mailing list as the offer she received made the overall bill great value! Thank you :)”
