About 786 Restaurant
786 Restaurant, on City Rd in Bradford, starts most orders with a complimentary soup and pours Kurdish tea on the house, so a meal begins before the mains arrive. The kitchen works to a halal menu built around grills, with lamb and chicken turned into kebab and BBQ plates. A mixed grill comes as a sharing option, plated with rice, beans and potatoes in tomato sauce, and flat bread arrives alongside the grills. Cooking happens in view of the dining area, so guests can watch their order come together. Seating is spread across the room, with a separate area given over to families and couples, and dishes leave the pass quickly enough to suit a lunch break. Booking ahead is advised. The doors open daily.

Customer Review Summary
The grills anchor nearly every account: diners single out the mixed grill to share, the lamb and chicken BBQ, and a spread of kebab options, with several describing the chicken still sizzling as it comes off the barbecue. Close behind is the complimentary soup that starts most meals, along with free Kurdish tea, both repeatedly flagged as unexpected extras. The flat naan draws its own praise, as do the two types of rice, beans and potatoes in tomato sauce that come alongside. Several working diners note how quickly they were fed and back out the door, and the open kitchen and clean, tidy room come up more than once. Not everyone is won over on flavour: one reviewer found the lamb and chicken BBQ bland by desi standards and suggested bringing your own masala. Another describes the kitchen team speaking badly to the sole waitress, which made for an uncomfortable visit despite her friendliness.

“The food was typical kurdish food, couldn't complain about the food or value for money, however, there was only one lovely lady serving and the kitchen team appeared to talk badly to her, which made for an uncomfortable environment. The waitress was friendly with a big smile and clearly worked hard to ensure the customers enjoyed their experience.”

“I went here last night curious not knowing anything about the place, I have drove past for weeks. I went in said I would like something quick and easy. I was asked lamb or chicken. Within 10 minutes my food was ready and I was on my way. Woman i spoke with was very helpful. Food was very nice and a lot for the money. The place was very clean and tidy also.”
