Customer Review Summary
Samosa chaat is the dish reviewers name most. One calls the signature version the best thing they have eaten, while another found it drenched in yoghurt with a tamarind sauce that did not work. Close behind are the seekh kebabs, seekh wrap, chicken biryani, chicken tandoori and chips, and steak and chips, described as tasty, fresh, hot and properly cooked. A parent says their young boys have sampled most of the menu, favouring the paninis and chicken stir fry, and another reviewer calls the dessert yummy. Not everything lands: the fish fingers were called tasteless, and the chicken Parmesan was fairly plain until salt and pepper were added. Several praise a friendly, welcoming front-of-house server who is good with children, and the atmosphere is described as warm and lively. Slow service is the recurring complaint. One reviewer walked out of a takeaway Desi tea order after being told it would be a long wait, and another sent back a plain chicken tikka wrap that arrived with lettuce and mayo, then cancelled the remake because it took so long.

“Amazing food and fantastic service as always. My young boys love coming here and have more or less sampled the full menu. Their faves are the paninis, samosas/chaat, the seekh kebabs and the chicken stir fry. Everything is cooked fresh to order and the service comes with a smile. Anjali always welcomes us with a smile and always accommodates all our little requests. She is amazing with the kids and is a real asset for Janan Cafe!”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had such a great experience thanks to Anjali! She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. She checked in at just the right times, made excellent recommendations, and handled everything with such a positive attitude and professionalism. Great service can really make a meal memorable, and she absolutely did that. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable, we’ll definitely be back!”

“Thank god for Janan and Cafe Janan travelled all the way from Newcastle to get my Eid shopping and I wasn’t let down. Furthermore the Cafe wow I was blown away the service and food I couldn’t have asked for anything more, the Signature Samosa Chaat was the best thing I’ve had and I couldn’t end this review without mentioning the service Hamaad, Hamza and Amaan where a breath of fresh air really restored my belief that there is some amazing lads in this world!!”

“Service is shockingly crap. Ordered a chicken samosa chaat and a chicken tikka wrap (plain) and a drink. 15mins after ordering the chaat arrives with the drink. We then wait a further 10mins for the wrap which comes with lettuce and mayo on. Sent it back and the remake took so long I just cancelled it. Considering the place isn't even busy and they have over 5 staff behind the counter there is no excuse and the owners really need to sort this out.”

“Ambient place to have a yummy snack while shopping. The staff is exceptionally nice and polite. Food is served in a good time and it's always fresh, hot and yummy.”
