About Old Harry Rocks Bar & Restaurant
Old Harry Rocks Bar & Restaurant is a modern British restaurant in Bournemouth, on W Hill Rd, set on a clifftop beside the beach with sea views from the dining room. The kitchen cooks around sharing plates, with chorizo croquettes on the lunch menu and pork knuckle as a main. A Sunday roast menu runs with roast pork belly as a recurring choice, and a set lunch comes in two or three courses. The bar pours cocktails, including tall ones served on the rocks, along with mocktails and a small selection of fruity ciders. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring them along. Limited free parking is available on nearby roads, with a two-hour stay.

Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast draws the most praise, especially the pork, whether roast belly pork or pork roast, with big portions, roast potatoes, Yorkshires and cauliflower cheese singled out. Close behind are the chorizo croquettes, pumpkin soup, oysters and desserts such as lemon meringue pie, while the cocktails, the mocktails, a DJ on one evening and the stunning views add to the draw. The set lunch is described as good value, and staff are repeatedly called friendly. Complaints centre on cost and consistency. One diner found the roast beef too small for its price and the gravy watery, another called the pork knuckle dry, though a different diner praised its crispy crackling. A few note a service surcharge added to the bill. One hotel guest who wanted only coffee and dessert was told several empty tables had to be free by 3PM and was offered the waiting area couch instead, which felt unwelcoming. Another couple was given a complimentary slice of brownie and cream for their anniversary meal.

“Very nice place to eat, had the set lunch menu which was good value for money given the quality of the food and the location. Selection of mocktails was great and small selection of fruity ciders. There is limited free parking on the nearby roads where you can park for 2 hours. The staff were kind enough to give us a complimentary slice of brownie and cream for our anniversary meal.”

“What a stunning place. Beautiful views and fantastic food. We visited on a Sunday so was the “roast” menu. I had roast belly pork which was delicious. Big portions too. We have found a new favourite. It’s not cheap but it’s so worth it. Just one thing to note. They do add a 12% surcharge. But the service was good so we would have tipped anyway.”

“The view was extraordinary. My pork knuckle was dry however everyone else really enjoyed their main dish so I would recommend this be placed on your itinerary.”

“Sunday Roasts are about as traditional to an Italian as pineapple is to a Neapolitan pizza chef. But after this meal? I’m ready to betray my heritage and sign up for a weekly subscription. Oh my god. Praise to the chefs. Great service too really. ❤️”
