About Blacklock Birmingham
On St Philip's Pl in Birmingham, Blacklock Birmingham is a steak house working in the modern British chophouse style, with dry-aged, grass-fed steaks at the centre of the menu. The Sunday Roast puts coal-roasted joints on the plate with roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and unlimited gravy. Steaks include prime rib, short rib, ribeyes and a porterhouse, and the All In option brings chops of beef, lamb and pork to the table. Pig's head on toast is a recurring starter, and the burger comes with caramelised vermouth onions and cheese. Beef dripping chips sit among the sides. Drinks run to cocktails and sustainable wine on tap, and the white chocolate cheesecake closes the menu.

Customer Review Summary
Steaks anchor the praise, with diners singling out the prime rib, the ribeyes and a shared porterhouse as perfectly cooked cuts. The white chocolate cheesecake comes close behind, with one reviewer planning to return for it alone and another saying to leave room for it. Also named are the short rib, a burger with caramelised vermouth onions and cheese, beef dripping chips, creamed spinach and a pork loin one diner calls the best they have had. Reviewers describe the staff as welcoming and attentive, and several say they talked through the menu patiently. One calls the All In option good value and another cites fair prices. The caveats are small but specific. One diner found the starters slightly too salty, another said some cuts of meat came more well done than others, and a third noted the menu has no mushrooms or onion rings. One table ended the night with dessert arriving with a birthday candle and a serenade of Happy Birthday.

“You have seen the hype on social media; now it is time to go and test it for yourself. We heard about this place from a friend and obviously then saw it all over the socials. Well, let me tell you, it is all justified. The staff are very attentive, and the food is delicious and plentiful. You must leave room for dessert, though. We shared a 900g porterhouse steak, and it was cooked perfectly. We added chips and creamed spinach. (No mushrooms or onion rings on the menu, though.) They obviously do not seem to think they are relevant, but it is the first time I have ever eaten at a steak restaurant that does not serve one or both of these. The cocktails were lovely, too. Eat here to experience the hype; "Top Notch"”

“Staff were very accommodating in helping us secure a booking on a busy Friday night so a big thank you. The food was tasty across the board but my favourite was the Pig’s Head on Toast. The sauce was delicious and we kept it around to dip all sorts in! The short rib was excellent too, and it would be amiss not to mention the burger - great depth of flavour in the meat which worked really well with the caramelised vermouth onions, and cheese. The ribeyes were also top rated by the table - perfectly cooked and quality cuts. Highly recommended!”

“Divine. Friendly team, amazing food (best pork loin I have ever had) + tasty cocktails + comfortable environment and the lager comes iced cold!! Top quality and fair prices. We waddled out with big smiles and happy bellies. 100% recommend. 100% will come back.”

“I visited Blacklock Bham on a Thursday evening early on and had an excellent meal. Milan was our server who was very knowledgeable and attentive throughout. We had the ‘All In’ option which is very good value in my opinion and the food was delicious! Will definitely be returning.”

“Very nice place. The atmosphere was great. Very friendly and professional service. The food was very good, but not perfect. Some of the cuts of meat were more well done than others. But still delicious.”
