About Sky Bar & Restaurant
Sky Bar & Restaurant is a rooftop restaurant and bar in Birmingham, on the top floor of Resorts World on Pendigo Way. A wraparound balcony circles the floor, and one side overlooks the lake, so the window seats give diners a view of the water. The restaurant section and the bar area are separate, and the music runs louder in the bar. Floral arrangements in pink and green tones decorate the space. The food menu includes burgers, with a veggie burger among them. The bar makes cocktails such as a tiki colada and a rolled Paloma. Seating is walk-in.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the setting, a colourful, floral rooftop with a wraparound balcony and views over the lake and rooftops, and several name the cocktails as a high point, alongside a burger one diner calls among the best they have had. Close behind comes friendly staff, with one reviewer describing a birthday plate made for their table. The food draws the main complaints. One reviewer found the salt and pepper chicken bland and a rump steak tough with cartilage, another found reheated fish cakes and a fish finger baguette that kept falling off its small plate, and two mention hard, overfried fries. A baked cheesecake served frozen went unacknowledged when raised. Service gets mixed reports: a group of 11 had a missing gammon egg and unordered drinks, one reviewer calls the automatic service charge unwelcome, and another was refunded a food order placed through the website before being told only pizza was available. Some also say the venue's premium look sets expectations the menu does not meet. One diner still praised a panettoni bread and butter pudding with Baileys custard.

“We were charged extra for things we did not order separately, the table was not cleared at the end but the bill was slapped on the table by a blonde lady. She did not clearly explain things to us either, I had to keep asking. The male waiter however was kind and well-mannered. The venue is beautiful and great for pictures. I would return if the service was actually better.”

“The food was good with generous portions! To be honest, the veggie burger could have been better but the fish and chips tasted good. Nice interior but perhaps the tables could be spaced further apart. It felt like we were very close to other guests.”

“I came with my friend this late afternoon to have some cocktails to celebrate my birthday and we had such a lovely time! We had some small dishes to eat whilst we enjoyed our drinks, the food and cocktails tasted amazing! Atmosphere was great and the service was fantastic. Bobby, I believe his name is, was so kind and even made this lovely plate pictured for my birthday. It was special and this gesture was greatly appreciated. It was my first time coming here and I will definitely be back. 100% recommend. Thank you!”

“The food was nice, I had a burger which was very filling. The drinks were also very nice. The staff are friendly but the service itself was almost non-existant so it wasn't very good. The place itself looks very nice, they have multiple seating areas including outside on the balcony area. The bathrooms look very nice as well.”

“I stayed at the Genting hotel for the bank holiday, and decided to have dinner here as you get 15% off with your stay. We didn’t prebook, but still managed to get a seat in the sort of outside bit, all the waiters/staff were polite and shout out to the waiter who served us, he was super nice! Food was really good, a bit expensive if you pay full price, but you are in resorts world so that is expected. The atmosphere is a massive selling point too. The iced vanilla latte was so good, I really wish I had it again in the morning😖 the burger too, probably one of the best burgers I’ve had! Not sure about my partners meal, as he was too busy being moody, but he looked pretty happy eating it. Overall, definitely recommend! I’d come back again even if I wasn’t staying at the hotel.”
