Customer Review Summary

Poppadoms draw the most consistent praise, described as crisp, fresh and free, and one reviewer who disliked everything else called them the only good item. Curries split opinion sharply. One diner found a vegetable madras beautifully spiced, made with fresh vegetables and extra sauce as requested. Another called the chicken jalfrezi lovely with tender pieces, and a lamb balti with naan was called delicious. The naga donner with its fresh salad also earns praise, along with fast delivery and polite staff. Complaints are just as frequent, though. Several describe bland food: a biryani with no salt or spice, a watery chicken tikka jalfrezi, and dhal likened to tap water, served with underdone chappatis. Others report a tough, tasteless lamb starter, a platter with small portions and bright red food colouring, and one says the donner salad smelled out of date. One order took two hours and arrived wrong, and the replacement meal brought a chicken tikka described as dry as a bone.

“Ordered food. Dhal 2 containers plus side orders of chappatis. Dhal was like tap water mixed with cooking oil with large chunks of garlic lots of coriander swimming on top. Totally bland and tasteless. The chappatis were under cooked all around the edges.”

“I’m from Scotland and recently visited Bhirmangam for two days. Since I have Indian roots, I was looking forward to having a proper spicy biriyani. Unfortunately, the experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. We ordered four biriyanis (three lamb and one chicken). When I took the food back to my room, the smell was overwhelming and unpleasant. The biriyani had no salt, no spice, and no real flavour at all. It was nothing like what a proper biriyani should taste like. On top of that, the payment process was unprofessional — the manager insisted on cash at first and then later agreed to a bank transfer. We paid £35 in total, which was absolutely not worth it considering the quality of the food. I’m truly disappointed and would not recommend visiting this restaurant.”

“Ordered from this place for the first time. Never knew it existed to be honest . Their naga donner is very good and salad was very fresh. Fast delivery and polite lads will be back again soon.”

“First time ordering from this place. I must say the chicken jalfrezi was lovely tender pieces. Poppadoms were free and very fresh. Overall, I would give this 8.5 out of 10, and I am fussy. Only downfalls I had lamb for starter to make the order up, and the lamb was very tough and tasteless. But it will definitely not put me off.”
