“Lee was really fantastic and stayed past closing time to do my nails. The service was fast and everyone was very kind. It was very hot so he put the blinds down for me, offered me water - it was very kind. My nails are so beautiful I really like them! Definitely coming again.”

“I visited Glow about 3 weeks ago. I walked in and was poorly greeted by my nail tech, what I tried to communicate was not translating and no other member of staff in the shop who could speak English was interested enough to bother to make sure it was. cut a long story short I wanted my natural nails with BIAB, however my left hand was all natural nail and my right hand all broken. However I didn't want to just have a type of nail that was gonna ruin my natural nail journey. So I asked if it was possible to preserve the left hand with natural nails using BIAB and give artificial extension to my right, so my natural nails could catch up. This somehow was understood by my nail tech, enough to be angry with me, when I noticed that the length of 2 of my right hand nails were not the same length as my left hand and could they be redone? She snapped and said - 'why didn't you just have extension for all???' I proceeded to explain agin and she proceeded to huff and puff and was very rough with handling my hands. As another woman of colour has said in her review, I have faced the same experience, I would like to validate your experience and tell you they definitely treat 'US' differently, you didn't imagine it. I had to laugh in my head when I realised what was happening. I did not give any attitude and thought considering I'm paying this much I at least should be 100% happy. she did as I asked after I said I will pay more if I need to ... It Dos'nt end there, bare in mind I was on my own in the shop - I had all three standing around me after my nails were done and try to bully me into getting a completely different colour to what I wanted to match my toes ...also bare in mind, I asked if I could just have a base colour on my toes that was the same as what I had on my fingers with the same gold metallic and I was told no, we have no more pink and the metallic will rub off anyway. (anyone who hasn't been there, there is a whole wall covered in bottles of NAIL GEL COLOURS. I was told by Lee to just have some brown bronze collar he tried to put under my nose, he then kept saying French tip? and numerous times I politely said no, id like the pink I have on my fingers on my toes or anything close to that pink, they said they only had this pink that seemed very pale but by this point I was over it and just thought as long as it paints well i'll take it.. A young lad proceeds to begin my pedicure and when he gets to painting my toe nails he did not do appropriate layyering. The pink they pushed on me to have instead as a 'compromise' was very pale and when he said he had finished you could still see my toe nails. So again I politely asked if they had at least a darker shade or could he put on some more layers to make it solid and bold? he proceeded to say 'you chose this pink', I then had to say 'nnnooo you pushed this on me' he then swore under his breath in his language. he did something and nothing as my toe nails are still uneven and look terrible. After telling me, they only take cash before my toes are dry he came and swooped in with a CARD machine and charged me £80 - never again will I go there and any ladies of colour with 'Attitude' I say this loosely ofc - beware!!”

Customer Review Summary
Alongside this, a serious and recurring complaint runs through several reviews: multiple customers describe being treated differently because of race, including being pushed toward cheaper or simpler designs while other clients received more attention, staff speaking in their own language and laughing during a service, and a manager described as shouting at staff in front of customers. One reviewer detailed a pedicure dispute over color choice and layering that left the polish looking, in her words, uneven, plus a mismatch in acrylic extension lengths on her hands that required a redo, and a card machine appearing after being told the salon was cash only. These accounts describe the same pattern of dismissive treatment and rough handling reported independently by more than one customer, alongside the otherwise consistent enthusiasm for the nail work itself.
