About The Tiger Inn
On Lairgate in Beverley, The Tiger Inn is a pub whose bar sits in the middle of the road. Real ales are on sale at the bar, and the kitchen serves steak and a mixed grill. A large car park sits on site, out of view from the street, so visitors arriving by car have a place to leave their vehicles. Dogs are welcome, which suits walkers who bring a pet along. Reservations are required, so tables are arranged ahead of a visit.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the food, with the mixed grill singled out as perfectly cooked and one party of ten calling it some of the best pub food they had eaten. Another reviewer simply calls the steak fantastic. Real ales and good beer draw approval, and a few mention that the pub is dog friendly and that a lunch table was available without a reservation. Staff come up repeatedly as welcoming, friendly and lovely, and one reviewer says worries when the old landlord left proved unfounded. The one sharply negative review calls the food awful, describing a steak dried out to leatheriness, frozen peas barely warmed, poorly cooked oven fries and a chicken tikka masala with a tiny portion of chicken, though it still found the atmosphere good. One reviewer who skipped booking for Sunday lunch recommends reserving. Another notes the pub sits right in the road with little pavement, and that a partner found her first buzz ball tasted like a cheap cocktail.

“A nice little pub with good atmosphere, but the food was frankly awful: a steak that was dried out in a fry pan to leatherlikeness, and frozen peas warmed up a bit, plus oven fries not well cooked. Also a chicken tikka masala with a tiny size serving of chicken.”

“What a lovely hidden gem. Large car park on site. Lovely old place with lots of character. The food was honestly some the the best pub food our 10 strong party have eaten. The mixed grill which was ridiculously cheap was perfectly cooked. Great to also see some real ales on sale at very reasonable prices.”

“Very welcoming. Would definitely recommend booking for Sunday lunch, sadly we didn't. Good beer and very nice staff”

“Great pub! Served by Ben a few times who is absolutely spot on, great service, definitely recommend”

“The bar is basically in the middle of the road which is odd but not the staffs fault. Beverly just seems to lack in pavements I guess… Staff were very accommodating and just genuine lovely people. Had a fair few customers in but none of them were like ‘half cut man’ from the other pub… they were quiet and respectful of the other customers. My partner tried her first buzz ball here. She wasn’t a fan but was a fan their drinks in general. (She thought the buzz ball tasted just like a cheap cocktail which is fair)… Overall, would recommend this pub. It’s good!”
