Quick info
About Rosie's Traditional Fish & Chips
On Gilnahirk Rd in Belfast, Rosie's Traditional Fish & Chips serves the neighbourhood on a walk-in basis with no bookings taken. The counter runs on cash only, and an ATM sits right beside the premises for anyone arriving without it. The Chicken Goujon Meal is on the menu alongside the shop's usual battered fare, and high chairs are available for families with young children eating in. Those wanting to eat elsewhere can order takeaway or have food delivered. The shop opens Monday to Saturday and stays closed on Sundays, and queues are common at the counter even on weekdays.

Customer Review Summary
The complaints centre on portions and one phone call. Two reviewers say chip portions have shrunk, one describing a carton of gravy chips with cheese where the chips did not cover the bottom, another calling a large chip a kids' size portion. One reviewer who was given a plain burger instead of the dressed fillet burger with mayo they ordered describes a rude, unapologetic response when calling to give feedback, with no apology offered on the next order. Reviewers also note the shop is cash only, with an ATM next door.

“Well what can I say, Rosie's festive chips were amazing. Very tasty from the beautiful chips right down to the gravy. Absolutely busted after eating it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Cash only.”

“On entering it was very busy , but with a great atmosphere . The staff know what they are doing . This is a cash only business. You can though put in your order and there's an ATM right beside the premises . The staff are lovely . I ordered 3 goujon meals and a portion of battered sausages ... This came to £37.50 ...suppers with a drink 11.80 and £3.60 for the battered sausages. This on reflection is very reasonable . The food it's self was absolutely beautiful ❤️ the goujons were well seasoned in a crispy batter and the chips were out of this world . The battered sausages are cut up the middle before battering which I find weird to be honest but they were sooooooo nice. This place also does deliveries which was good to know . Definitely give this place a try on your next takeaway”

“Been using Rosies for quite a while but the prices have went up understandably but the portion sizes have got smaller 🤔 £5.60 for the gravy chip with cheese pictured. The chips didn't even cover the bottom of the carton, this has happened …”
