About Mersin
The doner kebab anchors the menu at Mersin, a kebab shop on Antrim Road in Belfast, where the doner kebab box arrives in huge portions with vegetables and sauces. The kitchen keeps its range tight around kebabs rather than spreading across a wide menu, with chips and meat plates alongside. Orders are taken at the counter without booking, so walk-ins are the norm, and delivery orders are placed by phone for anyone eating at home. High chairs are on hand for families with young children who eat in. The doors open daily in the evenings only.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return to the doner kebab, praised for its huge portion and value, with one calling it the biggest doner they have had for the price and another naming it the best kebab they have had in Northern Ireland. Close behind, several point to plenty of vegetables and sauces with orders and a traditional, no-fuss menu. One reviewer rated the doner kebab box a step above the Mersin Burger, citing tender meat, a good crunch and plenty of sauce, while calling the burger dry on sauce and average. Freshness is the recurring complaint: one says quality depends on how fresh the batch is, another says food has lost its freshness in recent years, and a steak kebab on naan was described as thick, hard to chew and like leftovers. One late order arrived with no sauce, nobody answered the phone, and the next day a manager reportedly called the customer a liar. Another reviewer says card payment was refused only when the food was about to be handed over. Several still describe the staff as lovely, including a young woman who was kind on the phone about the missing sauce.

“Reasonably priced for the food we get; it's been years since I've ordered from Mersin Kebab. I ordered their Mersin Burger; I would give it a 6/10. It was not a poor burger or an excellent burger, average at best, a bit dry on the sauce, and it took until my 3rd bite to have any fulfilment from it, and I love onions on my burger but maybe not the size of my fingers. 😅 I also ordered their doner kebab box, a slight improvement with kebab meat; there was tenderness to it, a good crunch and plenty of sauce. Also, I'll give the donor box 7/10.”
