Coffee Box Belfast is a cafe on Lockview Rd beside the River Lagan, near the boat club and the footbridge and weir, and there is no indoor room at all, every table sits outdoors under a large permanent canvas shelter. Coffee leads the order, with hot chocolate, a selection of tray bakes, toasted sandwiches and bacon baps alongside. The team takes the order, makes it, and brings it to the table. Because the shelter is open at the sides, a coat helps in winter. Dogs come along too, with dog treats and a basket of tennis balls on hand, which suits walkers stopping in off the Lagan tow path. Seating is entirely outdoor, so the whole setup works for open-air eating, and drinks and food can be taken away for the rest of the walk. A step-free entrance keeps the tables reachable for visitors with mobility needs. There is no booking, customers simply walk up, and it opens daily.

“This is a really nice little spot beside the boat club with views over the river. Quite funky with good cover if the weather is inclement. Coffee, snacks, and treats excellent and well priced. The milkshake was only just ok. The only negative I had was the staff attitude to CUSTOMER SERVICE. Yes they asked what you wanted, made it, and set it up for you, but no one smiled, said good morning, or thank you. The visit here could be EVEN better with one, two, or all of the above.”
