Customer Review Summary

Steak is the dish reviewers raise most, described as cooked and seasoned perfectly in one account and as a great cut of local meat in another. Close behind are the beef pie, praised for its puff pastry and called satisfying, and the homemade burger. Diners also name the pork belly with its broth, an aubergine starter, hake, halibut with chorizo and beans, garlic prawns, a trout salad and a pistachio Bakewell tart. Reviewers describe a roaring fire, a buzzing atmosphere and friendly staff, with one noting off-menu cocktails made for their table and another saying small food preference changes were accommodated. Several say the portions and value beat pricier towns they had visited, though one finds it a bit pricey for the quality and another would like more options on the menu. One suggests booking in advance for busy weekends. In one account, a forgotten order was corrected quickly.

“i cannot put into words how amazing this place is. delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, lovely drinks - but the best part by far is the staff. just the nicest, most accommodating people ever. we came in on our first out of three days in aviemore because we heard some nice tunes, and we ended up coming back every single day. price to quality ratio is mad - we went to more expensive places and it just does not compare. the food was insanely good, and so were the drinks. Asher (i believe) went out of his way to make us some cocktails off-the-menu that we couldn’t get enough of. everyone else we’ve been served by was so extremely friendly and considerate, too! all in all, honestly an unmissable place in aviemore, whether for tunes, drinks, food, or just general vibes. we’d literally come back again just to visit yous one more time. wishing you guys all the best - the quality standard is beyond exceptional! big love from edinburgh!”

“The OBI is a perfect spot for just a drink or dinner, you can sit inside and plenty of room outside with picnic benches / outdoor area. It always has a great buzzing atmosphere with plenty going on. Staff are super friendly and efficient. Food is next level! The only thing I would change is more options on the menu.”

“I think it is one of the best places in Aveimore to have food. Great staff and great food. Enjoyed the burger a lot. You can taste the quality of the food. Also had a pistachio Bakewell tart which was brilliant! Could be busy over the weekend so highly recommend booking in advance.”

“This dinner was fabulous! My wife and I have been to edinburgh and inverness and the highlands prior to aviemore. This dinner beats out places twice as expensive in the prior towns. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The puff pastry on the pie was fabulous. The provencal veggies were perfect, the asparagus was perfect… it was all perfect. Awesome vibe in the restaurant too. Cute river walk just across the street. I cannot rave enough about the quality of food and cooking here. We were stunned. Definitely a stop if you want to hike cairngorms or on the way to the highlands.”
