“Based on reviews, I was expecting this place to be terrible but it isn’t bad. Would order again. Special fried rice was good, sweet and sour chicken was great - nice and crispy. The spare ribs were ok (some a tad dry whilst others really moist). Food was hot with good portions. Service was friendly. My main disappointment was the Chinese style roast pork. Nothing like the char Sui type I was expecting. It was extremely dry meat really tough. It was also drenched in brown sauce which wasn’t mentioned on the menu. Would not have purchased it had I known. Sauce tasted like spare ribs. Deffo not what I wanted. Lost a point for that dish. Picture attached. I’ve ordered many a Chinese style roast pork and it’s never come in a sauce like that.”

“Can’t pay by card for orders under £30. Chicken slimy and tasteless. No matter how much you spend still have to pay £3 for crackers.”

“Excellent Chinese takeaway with good mix of rice & noodle dishes. Additional single person meal options on the board for those wanting to spend & eat less. Cash only for orders under £30. Best to phone ahead for collection or pick-up early as tiny waiting area can get very busy.”

“Great food. Service mixed. One lady very nice, another looked like she wanted to jab me in the eye with a chop stick for asking to pay by card.”

“I’ve been recently using lees garden more frequently. Fantastic quality and service. The curry sauce is my go - to choice I highly recommend. We’ve been trying something new each time and can honestly say my husband and I have not been disappointed. Again, I definitely recommend. Prices are very fair. Food is great quality.”

Customer Review Summary
Sweet and sour chicken is the dish reviewers name most, described as nice and crispy by one diner and as the Hong Kong style version, perfectly cooked and hot, by another. Close behind are crispy prawn balls that stayed crispy, the curry sauce, chow mein, rice noodles and special fried rice, with several praising generous portions and full flavour. Service draws mixed accounts: some call the staff friendly, while one reviewer describes a hostile reaction to a request to pay by card. The main complaint is the chicken, which two reviewers call slimy, one in a curry and noodles order, and both of them also object to paying extra for prawn crackers and to being unable to pay by card on smaller orders. One diner found the Chinese style roast pork extremely dry and tough, covered in a brown sauce the menu did not mention, and the spare ribs were mixed, some dry and others moist. Even so, one reviewer found the food still piping hot after a long drive home, with no reheating needed.
