About The Parsons Table

The Parsons Table is a modern British restaurant in Arundel, just off the main high street. The seasonal menu includes a set lunch and a three-course set menu, and daily specials are listed on a blackboard, with the serving staff explaining each one. Fresh fish runs through the specials, including halibut with a salt cod croquette. A rillette of salmon and cucumber is on offer as a starter. The drinks list has Sancerre by the glass, and the bar also makes cocktails. The dining room is small, and reservations are required.

Customer Review Summary

Fish dishes are what reviewers return to most, led by the catch of the day, with one describing halibut with a salt cod croquette as cooked to perfection. Others name roasted cod, hake, sea bass and a salmon starter, and a rillette of salmon and cucumber is called beautifully presented. A pork chop is also mentioned. The daily specials board, explained by friendly, knowledgeable staff, expands a set lunch menu that reviewers repeatedly call good value. Close behind is the wine list, with a reasonably priced sauvignon blanc and Sancerre by the glass noted as rare, plus cocktails. The dining room is small and fills quickly, and one reviewer notes it closes around 8.30, so a couple of diners advise reserving ahead. Complaints are minor: a sea bass supplement that one reviewer found worth paying, and one diner who missed the goats cheese they expected on a starter. One reviewer calls the warm treacle tart with lemon thyme and passionfruit ripple ice cream the best they have ever had.

“The perfect lunch setting in the beautiful Arundel. The service and food was amazing and the lunch menu is such good value. The catch of the day in the halibut with a salt cod croquette was amazing. Cooked to perfection and the plate wa singing. And a lovely wine/alcohol list to pair with the fish, meat or veg dishes. We will be back for sure as only in Horsham so only a short train journey. Top work chef and team.”

“We went here for the first time last night. Liz was just so lovely from start to finish as were all of the staff. In a word "stunning" the atmosphere was so relaxed and enjoyable, but the food was a different level. I have never tasted such genius from the humble Cucumber. The starter of rillette of Salmon and cucumber was truly beautiful. I had the pork chop for my main and my wife had the Hake. Again, both beautifully presented and a taste sensation with so many different layers of flavour. A wonderful evening and amazing value in my opinion. We live roughly 100 miles away but are already planning to go back and can't wait. Thank you”

“A memorable dining experience for my wife's birthday. We enjoyed the evening's special starter, fresh fish and dessert dishes as described on the blackboard and ably explained by the friendly and knowledgable serving staff. There is also an interesting wine list. The restaurant is quite small and closes around 8.30 so it would be worth making a reservation.”

“Parsons Table is a boutique restaurant just off the main high street. Went on Tuesday lunch time - would strongly advise booking in advance as it quickly filled to capacity. Impeccable food beautifully presented accompanied by very reasonably priced bottle of sauvignon blanc. Great service and the lunch set menu online is supplemented by daily specials which significantly expand the choice available. We shall return and highly recommend this restaurant.”
