About Fino - Restaurant and Bar
Fino is a family-run Italian restaurant and bar on Flansham Lane in Bognor Regis, with guest rooms for people who want to stay overnight. The rooms have their own entrance around the side of the building. The menu starts with an arancini starter and continues with seafood risotto and lasagne. The kitchen caters for coeliac needs, so gluten-free diners can order from it. The bar makes cocktails fresh and keeps a wine list for the table. The dining room seats large parties, which suits group meals. A car park sits beside the restaurant.

Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers praise the food and the friendly staff, and several call the prices reasonable. Diners mention a large party accommodated without a steep table cost, a coeliac who felt well looked after, a freshly made cocktail, and a birthday dinner described as faultless. One overnight guest praised the bath but found the side back door to the rooms uninviting. A few reviewers had a very different experience, mostly with service. One faced a long wait for drinks, then a watery seafood risotto with two closed clams and a child's dish that seemed like tinned tomatoes and onion, and was told only that the chef would be informed. Another found a server rude and abrupt, with a two-mouthful arancini and a lasagne short on meat and taste. A third had drinks dropped in their lap and was merely told to dry their trousers with the hand dryer. Happier diners describe food arriving piping hot and staff who stop for a chat and a laugh.

“Got to the restaurant and the carpark was almost full - got the last space. Was seated quickly and ordered drinks which also came quickly. Unfortunately, the waitress decided to drop them in my lap. An accident. But the attitude afterwards was extremely poor. First she suggested I dry my sopping wet trousers in the gents using the hand dryer. Then, when I decided to drive the two miles back to the apartment, the manager said it was impossible to save me a parking spot. Anyone else who arrived would get priority. No offer to pay for cleaning, not even a drink on the house (unless you count the drinks in the lap). Didn't try the food and never will. If you value service as well as food, avoid Fino like the plague.”

“was extremely disappointed with my recent visit to Fino. Unfortunately, it was some of the worst service I have experienced in a restaurant. We waited around 20 minutes just for our drinks to arrive. My daughter's meal arrived alongside our starters, which was actually appreciated as it meant she wasn't left waiting. However, the dish itself appeared to be little more than tinned tomatoes and onion, tasted raw, and was not something I would expect to be served to a child. When our mains arrived, I ordered the seafood risotto. It consisted of three king prawns, a few small prawns, chewy calamari rings and three clams, two of which were still closed and therefore inedible. The risotto itself was so watery that it was closer to a soup than a risotto. When I raised my concerns, the response was disappointing. I was told that the chef would be informed, but nothing was done to address the issues. When the waitress returned, there was no apology, no explanation and no attempt to rectify the situation. I was simply told again that she would speak to the chefs. There were also numerous small details that reflected a lack of attention to service. My daughter was served soup without a soup spoon, and when we requested olive oil and balsamic vinegar, they arrived without a ramekin or suitable dish. The restaurant itself looks impressive, but unfortunately the food and service did not match the appearance. To make matters worse, when we left, I felt uncomfortable rather than valued as a customer. Instead of receiving an apology, I was left with the impression that staff were staring and laughing. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I rarely leave negative reviews, but on this occasion I feel it is justified. Sadly, I would not return or recommend Fino based on this visit.”
