About 47 Mussel Row
47 Mussel Row is a restaurant at 48 Pier Rd in Littlehampton, by the river and harbour, with a simple, rustic interior. The kitchen smokes its own ling on the premises, and the fish appears on the specials board. Mussels come in a sauce, often with homemade bread, and the chowder is on the menu alongside tempura prawns. Scallops are offered as a starter, and the mackerel pâté also arrives with home-made bread. Mains and the Sunday roast are served with dauphinois potatoes.

Customer Review Summary
The main reservations concern the setting and a few dishes. Reviewers call the interior rustic, a simple cafe setup, and one says it needs modernising and a dust around the coffee machine. Scallops disappointed one diner who wanted a more elevated dish, and the Singapore tiger prawn paled beside the other plates. Service is repeatedly called friendly, with one noting no service charge was automatically added to the bill. One reviewer describes being welcomed on arrival and thanked on leaving.

“Since moving to LA 3 years ago; I've been on a quest for the best Sunday Lunch. Eaten at 8 places so far. #47 is the top of the list. Wondeful roast potatoes, dauphinois potatoes plus good homemade stuffing. The lemon posset was amazing. I do hope that you will open for more days through the summer season. Your fish was the best for quite a distance”

“Great local restaurant right next to the river. Key points- service charge not automatically added to the bill, there is a specials board, the mussels are fantastic especially with the homecooked bread. Very tasty food, friendly staff and nice atmosphere.”

“The service at this restaurant was very good; the staff were polite & attentive, they welcomed us and said goodbye when we left. The starters were excellent; the scallops were prepared really well and the tempura prawn was light and tasty. For mains we had mussels which were fresh and served in a delicious sauce. We also tried the Singapore tiger prawn which were good, but paled in comparison to the other dishes. My one small criticism is that the interior could do with modernising and a bit of a dust around the coffee machine! If you want some seafood in a very typically British location this is a good choice.”

“For those who like seafood, a great place to sit and eat mussels cooked in a tasty, well-designed sauce. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Other excellent choices available on the elegant menu. Thank you Olaf and everyone!”

“Rowan Was a great waiter. My partner I thought it was better than the giggling squid so that speaks for itself. I really enjoyed the meal. We had a nice day down the beach. We wanted to get seafood- found this place on Google Maps and thought let's try it out needless to say we were very pleased and happy that we did go there. There was a lovely really nice atmosphere (of course I had the best company possible) a really nice place to go with family or friends I imagine you'll definitely have a nice meal and enjoy a nice drink whether it be alcoholic or soft. if you haven't been its definitely worth a visit ?”
