About Chestnut Tree
Chestnut Tree is a pub and restaurant on Weyhill Road in Andover, set up for both casual drinks and sit-down meals. The kitchen serves a budget Sunday lunch, and bar staff seat guests when they arrive. A meat raffle runs at the bar, and one team member has been seen handling the bar, app drink orders and the raffle on their own. Dogs are welcome inside. Sundays tend to draw longer waits for food and at the bar. Tables are shown to guests by bar staff.

Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers praise the welcoming, friendly staff and the steak, with several mentioning it cooked exactly as requested and arriving hot. Close behind, Sunday lunch and good value draw return visits. A few flag long waits and short-staffing at the bar, while one diner reports overcooked wings, greasy battered fish, and unclean toilets, and another describes shouted kitchen conversations. Several recommend stopping in when traveling through.

“One of the worst restaurant experiences that I have ever had. The chicken wings were skimpy and over cooked. My daughters chicken nuggets were over cooked and hard. It was filthy too. It needed a good clean and the toilets were disgusting with broken toilet seats and no clean toilets to go in to. I have included pictures of the sinks in the toilet which clearly haven't been cleaned for a long time.”

“We popped in for something to eat on the way home from a day out. The Pub itself very nice, the front of staff very polite and friendly however every time the kitchen door opened it was like Gordon Ramsey was out there and he was having a bad day, every time the door to the kitchen opened everyone conversation halted as we all looked towards the kitchen almost comical but not great when you're sat with children. I have to admit I was surprised at the low price of the food, the children had fish and chips, my husband a steak and chips and myself the steak salad and the food was ok... Unfortunately I struggled to eat even half my salad because it was literally drowned in dressing and the fish had very greasy batter but the fish itself was ok... I know what your thinking 'why didn't you send the food' back but to be honest the way the staff were being shouted at I didn't really fancy it.”

“Un vrai pub anglais. Dépaysement garanti pour des Français”

“Good budget Sunday lunch. Most of the food was really nice, but slightly overcooked. A long wait for food on a Sunday lunchtime, and at the bar too. They could use some more staff I think. One guy was running the bar on his own as well as dealing with app drink orders and running a meat raffle! Decent food nevertheless.”

“Stopped here on the way back from peppa pig world. Very welcoming pub with polite, helpful and friendly staff. I would visit this pub again if I was in the area”
