“Me and my partner visited today, we've been dying to go since it opened. We were celebrating something so I thought, perfect opportunity to treat him! This review isn't to warn people from going, it's for the manager to reconsider his kitchen staff! The front of house staff were great, the place itself was beautiful and clean. The food however was shockingly bad. It took a surprisingly long time to arrive +it wasn't busy) but we thought, at least it will be fresh. When it did arrive some of the food was over cooked yet somehow stone cold. Something was missing from both dinners so we had to ask for them and when they came out they were also cold. You can tell they use good quality foods but someone just doesn't know how to cook it to standard. If they were to get a new chef we'd definitely be back as there's so much on the menu we wanted to try! *Response to the owners response* Just seen that you're questioning the authenticity of the review and don't understand what is meant or what grounds you've based this from?! Your manager promptly sorted the issue on the day and we've written this review in hopes to make you aware of the situation for you to deal with! Your defensive tone and questioning of the reviews authenticity is wild considering it's the same issue coming up in other bad reviews, so clearly something you should consider addressing rather than defending... We were keen to come back, but with your lack of apology and accusing me of lying about it, we definitely won't be!! Brilliant customer service!!”

“£3.95 for a tiny, overheated, bitter-tasting take-away latte? If you’re going to charge that kind of money, at least ensure the coffee is top notch.”

“Popped into Oat & Olive in Alnwick with the kids and really enjoyed it. Food was spot on, portions were good and the staff were really friendly. The kids were happy, which is always a bonus! Nice, clean place with a good atmosphere and reasonably priced as well. We’ll definitely be popping in again next time we’re in Alnwick. 👍”
