About Spitz Mediterranean Street Food
Spitz Mediterranean Street Food is a Mediterranean restaurant in Los Angeles, sitting at 371 E 2nd St as a low-key chain outpost serving doner kebabs, fries, and Turkish street eats alongside a full bar. The menu spans a broad range of offerings, with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options built into the lineup, so mixed-diet groups can eat from the same list. Customer Review Summary
The Street Döner Wrap and Street Cart Fries with chicken are the clear centerpieces, with diners repeatedly praising the fries as crisp and fresh and the lamb and beef as tender and flavorful. The bar program draws equal enthusiasm, with reviewers highlighting the seasonal cocktails, sangria twists, and a well-curated beer selection that includes hazy and west coast IPAs. Several patrons single out one bartender for being attentive, knowledgeable, and welcoming, often going above and beyond with drink recommendations and catering details. The casual, colorful interior and good music add to the appeal, making it a popular spot for both quick bites and relaxed drinks. However, one reviewer reported a deeply negative experience, describing a different staff member as rude and noting the use of a homophobic slur, which led them to cancel their order and leave within minutes.

“Crossposting because I don’t want anyone else to experience this. Was really excited to check this place out. The guy that greeted us (he was just about to get off shift) was super courteous. Unfortunately the guy coming on was rude, in a rush with an empty bar, and liked to argue with his patrons. We ordered drinks and food, but upon hearing him call someone an "f" slur, we got the departing bartenders attention to pay for our drinks, cancel our food, and we got out of there as quick as we could. Horrible experience in the span of less than 20 minutes. Do better.”

“I don't order from here a lot, but despite that, it's probably my most frequented place to order take out from. The food is delicious, it's quick, and it's a sometimes-welcome break from the Asian food in the neighborhood. Four stars for …”

“Juan was amazing. Skilled in his craft. The food is amazing. Just the Greek I needed. Lower priced than the competition with better quality. The lamb/beef melts in your mouth. 10/10.”
