  “I ordered a takeaway from Hot Woks Chinese and was really disappointed with both the food and the customer service. I ordered a special fried rice and a chicken chow mein. The food arrived on time, which was the only positive. The special fried rice was completely unexpected — it was swimming in gravy and had sliced pork placed on top. Everywhere else I’ve ordered special fried rice from, it’s just been dry rice with mixed ingredients, so this was a surprise. There was no mention of gravy or pork on the website when ordering. The chicken chow mein was also not what I asked for. I specifically put in the comments “no veg and no bean sprouts,” but it came full of both, along with mushrooms. I’ve never had mushrooms in chicken chow mein before, and again, this wasn’t mentioned anywhere on the menu. When I called to raise the issue, they said they didn’t receive my comments, even though I know I added them. Instead of trying to resolve the situation, they were rude and completely unhelpful. The customer service was shocking — they just couldn’t be bothered. It also raises a serious concern about allergies. If ingredients aren’t clearly listed and customer requests are ignored, it could be dangerous. All ingredients should be clearly stated on the website. Overall, very poor experience. I won’t be ordering from here again.”

  “Super disappointed! Half the dishes we’d ordered arrived wrong, the only thing “egg” about the “egg fried rice” was a piece of shell in it and nothing had seen a spice or flavour”

  “I've been going here for about 7 years and honestly the best Chinese I've ever had. Yes they have there bad days like other takeaways but very rare and even on there bad day it's still the nicest Chinese. Staff are friendly and I've never had any problems. Special fried rice and salt and pepper chips are absolutely beautiful.”

  “If you are vegetarian don't order from here. We ordered a mushroom foo yung to find a piece of meat. Rang to complain, to be told it doesn't state its vegetarian just vegetables. Said everything is cooked in the same pan. Also chips were disgusting warm ups alot were burnt definitely not freshly cooked. Will never go there again, spent over £50 on our order and most went in the bin!!”
