About Jade Palace Restaurant
Jade Palace Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant in Wickford, at 27-29 The Broadway. The whole menu runs as an all-you-can-eat sit-down buffet. Guests order the dishes they want at the table, and the kitchen brings each one out freshly cooked. That format suits groups who want to try several plates in one sitting. The menu covers familiar Chinese restaurant dishes, including beef chow mein, duck pancakes and Mongolian Lamb. Egg fried rice and spring rolls are there for the table to share, and chicken Hong Kong style rounds out the list.

Customer Review Summary
The all-you-can-eat sit-down buffet is what most reviewers discuss, and opinion on it splits. Fans describe dishes ordered at the table and brought out hot and freshly cooked, with the Mongolian Lamb singled out, along with generous portions, good quality and lovely staff. One lifelong regular now brings their own baby son. Close behind are complaints. Two diners say they booked a late table without being told the menu was a set-fee buffet, and paid the same as people who ordered far more. One of them had ordered beef chow mein, chicken Hong Kong style and duck pancakes and found the food not worth the bill. Longtime customers say dishes and ingredients changed for the worse after the refurb. Another describes a very long wait for mains, a slow bill, no apology and drinks offered only twice. One reviewer reports stomach cramps and diarrhea after a takeaway of chicken chow mein, which had hardly any chicken, and sweet and sour prawn balls. A takeaway customer, by contrast, praised the dishes packed well and handed over in a recycled jute bag with a smile.

“Tried this place for the first time last night after moving to Wickford 8 years ago. I am annoyed I didn't sooner. The food was great. Not just generous portions but good quality and not bland at all. It's such an odd thing to mention but the packaging was really good for each dish and the takeaway came in a recycled jute bag instead of a flimsy plastic thing. You can tell they care about the products they send out. The service I experienced was very good, even when I went to collect my grub, I was greeted with a smile. Ok would 100% come back and plan to find in next time. A well worthy local business that deserves support”

“I got a takeaway at lunchtime, chicken chow mein and sweet and sour prawn balls. There was hardly any chicken in the chow mein and I woke up early with painful stomach cramps and diarrhea for 2 days. Won't be going again”

“Been going here for years, returned yesterday after the refurb and the food is no where near as nice as what is used to be. Ingredients and dishes have changed and not for the better. Won’t be returning.”
