Customer Review Summary
Order accuracy and service attitude are what reviewers raise most, and the pattern is a decline among long-time customers. Several who have ordered for years say orders now arrive wrong, one reporting two mistakes in a month after new management and new order-takers, another saying dishes have changed flavour. Rudeness on the phone recurs: one reviewer describes being hung up on after reporting chicken balls that were pink inside, and another was left waiting two hours on a Friday after being told another half hour, turning down a discount offer. One reviewer also says a manager fixed a wrong order in person. On the food, the chicken curry, chow mein and a crisp pancake roll earn praise, and the chicken balls were called good by one diner. Complaints cover soggy chips, hard and bland pork fried rice, a watery lemon sauce, and duck that was mostly skin when shredded had been requested. Small portions come up, though others call them generous and say staff happily adjusted dishes for allergies. One reviewer was served by a first-day employee and could not find a single flaw.

“My family have been coming here since they opened as they always catered to our requests. Now they have new management they have decided they no longer want to cater to customers requests, shame new management will run this into the ground. Also the old receptionist was a lovely lad who knew our orders soon as we walked in. The 2 ladies now taking orders has got ours wrong twice in the whole twice we've been there in past month. Won't be ordering here again.”

“0 stars. Worst chinese ever. The chicken balls were pink inside and food was cold. I called up and spoke to them about this. The man on phone was very very rude. Kept saying well they crispy so they cooked. Being crispy on outside doesn't mean cooked inside. Was no need for rudeness. Anyway I have taken photos so if I get food poisoning from this I have proof. Avoid this place at all cost. Bad food, no taste, small portions, and very rude manager or boss. Not professional at all and then decides to hang phone up on me. Thank you for the great service”

“Got lemon chicken, special fried rice and crispy seaweed. My only complaint was the lemon sauce was very watery and the portions overall were small. Stil not bad for £13.60. One of the cheaper Chinese takeaways in Basildon but certainly not the best”

“Have used this Chinese for the past 10 years, however, my latest experience was disappointing. The new young girl with dark hair and huge fake eyelashes who takes the orders is incredibly rude. Three times I had to repeat my order to her over the phone as she continued to chat to someone else whilst I was still talking and she STILL got my order wrong. When I phoned up to complain, she outright denied messing the order up and her attitude was completely dismissive. Luckily, I returned to the store and the manager resolved the issue but this girl is ruining your reputation. Please employ someone with professionalism and some understanding of how to provide good customer service.”

Been coming here for years now would definitely recommend and the politeness and kindness from that young woman was very heart warming thanks guys keep it up !!”
