Quick info
About Blue Lagoona
Blue Lagoona is an Indian restaurant on Station Approach in Watford, with a Sunday buffet that starts at 1pm and centres on rice, curried vegetables, curried potato halves, chicken tikka, chicken curry and beef curry. Buffet diners are given one plate and bring it back for refills, shaping the meal as a steady rotation rather than an all-you-can-eat spread. The kitchen doubles as an Indian takeaway, with phone orders taken for collection. Service is walk-in, and the room seats guests for the buffet on Sundays while running the regular menu through the rest of the week.

Customer Review Summary
Long-time regulars return for the chef's cooking on takeaways and dine-in visits, calling the food excellent and the service friendly and comfortable. Close behind, several single out the curries and biryani, though a few diners found their biryani bland and the naan undercooked, and one describes the Sunday buffet as small, late, and not worth recommending. One reviewer goes further and disputes that the food reads as authentic Indian.

“For a long time I wanted to try Sunday buffet at blue Lagoon. It says it starts at 1pm. Got there after 2pm and buffet was not ready. We were served nice starter (plate with fried onion, samosa, chicken and bit of a salad with green sauce that was very nice). Buffet was JUST six dishes - rice, curried vegetables, curried potato halves, chicken tikka, chicken curry and beef curry (bit too chewy). Chicken tikka looked and tasted different to what I am used to, but wasn't too bad. After I finished eating, waiter brought me a bread. Too late. Also you only get one plate, if you want more, you have to take your plate with you. I would not recommend Sunday buffet.”

“Our family has been coming here for more than 30yrs, they haven’t been moved closer to the station. The food is always excellent, many times when we order for takeaway, the chef has never disappointed us and I always phone them to compliment the chef!! 5* I would recommend everyone.”

“Food was unfortunately just a bit bland. All three of us thought our dishes were ok but not good. My biryani just didn’t taste of much and nan bread was a bit undercooked.”
