Quick info
About The Shed
The Shed is a cafe on Runcorn Rd in Warrington, where seating is in shed pods and a cabin beside a paddock with horses. Dogs are welcome, and the team provides water and treats, including "pup cups". The menu centres on cheese toasties, toasted sandwiches and paninis, with a selection of cakes and scones served with jam and clotted cream. Drinks run from a pot of tea to lattes, iced coffee and soft drinks. The venue is small with a concrete floor, and a queue to order forms when it gets busy. The cafe sits on a canal walk and cycling route through the village.

Customer Review Summary
The criticism is concentrated in a few visits. One reviewer found a long queue out the door with only two staff, the same person taking coffee orders and making them, and left without ordering. Another called the cheese toasties underwhelming, with barely any cheese and crisps on the side. One visit mentioned a full table having a second round of drinks squeezed onto it, and that no gluten free bread was available. Prices for a crumpet or toast were also called shocking, while a visitor who ordered a panini enjoyed it.

“Had a lovely halloween walk with so many people and doggies. Our 2 dogs loved their pup cups at the end of the walk! I had a brownie and a ice coffee and both where tremendous 😍 5* for that. We did have to queue for a little while but that was with how busy the cafe was with the walk happening it was expected. We saw the horses as the paddock was next to the seating area. And there halloween display was INCREDIBLE. So good to take photos 📸”

“We called in after The Shed was recommenced and wasn’t disappointed. We had a pot of tea and scone with jam and clotted cream. The scone was warmed and so tasty. The lady who served us was really lovely. The shed pods are great. We were sheltered from the wind and had beautiful views. We’ll call again: for a toasty next time as the choice looked great x”

“We visited for the first time, after following for so long on insta and seeing such good reviews. But we were so disappointed. We got there at 10am, with 2 babies, We went to order and there was a huge queue literally out the door. Youd think wow must be because they are so good and busy. But it didn't seem to be the issue. It appeared to only have 2 staff members working and more tables than they can cope with. It also appeared the same person taking the coffee orders was then making coffee. It just wasnt working. When you go to meet people you dont want to be stood queing for 20/30 mins just to place an order and with kids it wasnt ideal. The outside area wasnt the nicest either. I was also really shocked the prices too, £4 for a crumpet or piece of toast, especially when children like to take one bite of each piece. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere and left feeling disappointed.”

“My visit was a mix of good and disappointing. On the good the food was nice but no gluten free bread (evidently waiting on a delivery ) as I can eat normal bread I had a lovely panini. The ladies serving were very nice too. However a little advice here, please clear the table before trying to squeeze a second order of drinks onto the already full table, I can’t understand why this didn’t happen? The dogs were welcome both inside and out. We had another issue but it was sorted out.”
