  “After finally getting round to this well recommended and highly praised French artisan café, we were blown away by our experience. It was mine and my partner's first time at Gourmand and it did not disappoint. From the kind replies by the owners Julian and Olivia, to the welcome and then to the food itself. We booked in for Sunday morning to try a few things off the (incredible) menu. There was a slight confusion about what time we were able dine and it turns out we came 30 minutes before opening but we were swiftly welcomed in and our first experience of Gourmand actually turned out to just be us for the time we were there until Gourmand opened properly. It was like a little VIP experience so thank you for welcoming us in despite being early. We ordered the Formule P'tit Dej with added 1/2 Tartine which includes a pastry, juice and hot drink. We went for the Pan au Chocolate with a separate Croissant per beurre totalling £14 which we thought was very fair. The tartine came with authentic French butter and your choice of homemade chocolate spread or selection of authentic French jams ranging from apricot to strawberry. The food for us was an experience within itself. If you've never had fresh homemade French recipe pastries you're in for a treat with Julian and Olivia. Clearly very talented and have been finalists in a few pastry competitions. They are also lovely people and businesses owners. The café itself is a beautiful atmosphere and well decorated with a clear inspiration from France; including french background ambience. On our occasion we would absolutely recommend you try Gourmand. They don't just do breakfast/pastry items either, the menu is very generous, they have something for everyone. Gourmand is located in Warrington town centre with ample options for parking which is paid parking unless on Sunday which is free. P.s we were so eager we already cut the croissant in half before capturing a photo, it doesn't do it justice. They are huge, well priced and incredibly tasty. Thank you again Julian and Olivia, J&S”
