About The Olive Tree Coffee Shop
On Erdington Rd in Walsall, The Olive Tree Coffee Shop is a cafe set inside Valley Nurseries Garden Centre. A secure children's play area sits next to the cafe, which gives families with young children somewhere to stop during a garden centre visit. Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers come for the coffee and cake, with a barista-made mocha, a double espresso, a really hot cappuccino, scones and brownies all singled out by name. Close behind is the friendly service, which reviewers mention again and again, along with a clean, tidy cafe. The children's play area and the small garden centre come up often, and families describe keeping kids entertained while they drink their coffee. One reviewer notes dogs are allowed inside the cafe, not just outside. Tea cakes also earn praise, though one reviewer points out the jam costs extra. The main criticism comes from a single reviewer who found a panini bland in look and taste, served with only crisps and no salad, and missing the dip listed on the menu, and who also wanted more filling for the price. Another describes a manager who let a mother stay after closing to feed her baby while he chatted with her three-year-old.

“Nice place to spend part of your day, food good, breakfast or lunch. Good range of soft drinks. Lovely tea cakes (jam extra cost) Nice to have a walk around the garden centre afterwards..”

“So first of all staff are very nice, the cafe is very clean too. The food i had was OK but it was a little bland looking and tasting. For the price paid for a panini £10.95 I think the meal deserves to be presented with a little salad, to make it more appealing, not just crisps. It also didn't have the dip which it states on the menu. I would visit again but please re think the presentation and amount of filling of the food being served.”
