About ALDRIDGE CAFE

On Anchor Parade in Aldridge, Aldridge Cafe is a cafe serving the square with a straightforward daytime menu. Bacon and egg rolls and poached eggs hollandaise with bacon cover breakfast, while a roast dinner is also on offer. A kids menu and high chairs make it a workable stop for families with young children, and the step-free, wheelchair-accessible entrance suits visitors with mobility needs. There is no booking system, it operates on a walk-in basis, and it opens daily during the day only. The cafe tends to fill up, so seating is not always immediate. Table service continues through the meal, with staff coming round to keep sugar and ketchup bottles topped up.

Customer Review Summary

Breakfast is the main draw at this café, with diners singling out bacon and egg rolls described as lovely and fresh, and poached eggs hollandaise with bacon, called the best well-cooked bacon one reviewer had eaten out in a long time. A roast dinner is close behind, with one reviewer taking their mum for it and saying she loves it. Generous portions and fair prices come up repeatedly, with some comparing it favourably to chain eateries. Staff are described again and again as friendly, polite and accommodating, and one parent notes they allowed a milkshake for a child who would only drink milk, at a small extra cost, when the kids menu offered juice. The criticism is sharper but rarer. One reviewer calls the deep fried hashbrowns and sausages disgusting, says the food is overpriced for cheap produce, and feels the café takes advantage of its many elderly customers. Another says staff collecting and refilling sugar and ketchup bottles while people are still eating, reaching over tables, is off-putting. Even so, the milkshake made for the little girl is the detail that stands out most.
