About Maltsters Arms
On Chapel Amble in Wadebridge, Maltsters Arms is a village pub in an old building, open daily. The kitchen serves pub fare, and pork belly with crispy crackling is a recurring dish on the menu. A trio roast with roast potatoes sits alongside it, and a specials board at the bar adds to the choice, with puddings to finish. Dogs are welcome and get treats and fuss from the staff. A singer with a guitar plays live music at the pub.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the pork belly, praised for its crispy crackling and tasty chips, and several describe portions as massive or generous. Close behind are a steak cooked to perfection, fish, puddings and the roast potatoes from the trio roast, with the food repeatedly called delicious. Staff are described as friendly and welcoming, handling a large party that included a baby and two dogs, and the chef stopped at one table to ask how the meal was. Dogs are given treats and fuss, and one couple enjoyed an unexpected singer with a guitar. The complaints are specific. One diner found the trio roast small for its cost, and the same group was confused because the service charge was not visible on the bill. Another said neither waitress mentioned the specials board and called the meal average. When the roast portions were questioned, the waitress brought out more slices of meat.

“Nice local pub, was shown to table and given a Menu, neither waitress mentioned that Specials were available. Maybe our fault for not noticing the board partly hidden by customers at the bar. Meal we had was average.”

“We treated ourselves to a meal out as it was the last night of our holiday abd it certainly did not disappoint. Husband had steak which was cooked to perfection and I had fish, both somehow found room for puddings. The service was great, efficient and friendly. Will definitely return next year.”

“This is a lovely traditional style pub. The menu is very much pub fare, but done well. I had some of the best belly pork with crispy crackling! Dog friendly and comfortable.”

“Beautiful little country pub, amazing aesthetics show how long the pub has been there. The food was incredible, the pork belly was out of this world, massive portions and tasty chips, would definitely like to come back at some point. Really friendly staff too, they went above and beyond”
