“Great rooms, really good size. Excellent drinks in room, Espresso machine and good variety of teas. Furnished well and air-conditioning! Truro is a nice small city and the County Arms is on the outskirts. You have to drive to get into the city but the location is makes it quick and simple to find. Lovely breakfast. For Cormwall in August the price was fair as well. Will definitely stay again next year.”

“Hotel is 10 min walk from the train station, slightly up hill, and has a reasonable size car park. Our 2 bed family room was quite large and well equipped. Service and food were very good. Nice rural view from the back of the hotel.”

“We recently stayed at the County Arms and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly and attentive, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Our room was spotless, comfortable and well-equipped, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The food was excellent, with a great choice at breakfast and delicious evening meals. The quality of the food and service really stood out. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, with lovely surroundings and a warm, inviting atmosphere throughout. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. We would highly recommend the County Arms to anyone looking for excellent hospitality, great food and a comfortable place to stay. We will definitely be returning!”

“Our stay at the County Arms was one we will never forget—not just because of the circumstances, but because of the incredible people who work there. My mother and I unexpectedly spent nearly three weeks at the County Arms while my father was a patient at Treliske Hospital. What was supposed to be a short stay kept extending as his hospitalization continued, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we could remain in the same room the entire time. That kindness removed one more worry during an incredibly stressful period, and it meant more to us than we can express. The team also took exceptional care with my mother’s food allergies. Every meal was prepared thoughtfully, and every member of the restaurant staff treated her dietary needs with genuine concern and attention. We never had to question whether she would be safe eating there—they made us feel completely cared for. What truly sets the County Arms apart, though, is the people. By the end of our stay, we genuinely felt like extended members of the family. Every day we were greeted with warmth, compassion, and encouragement during one of the hardest times of our lives. A heartfelt thank you to Tom, Stewart, Elisha, Danny, Sue, Lisa, and every member of the team who made us feel so welcome. Your kindness, flexibility, and compassion will stay with us forever. If you’re looking for a wonderful place to stay in Truro, I cannot recommend the County Arms highly enough. It’s a lovely hotel with a great pub, but most importantly, it’s filled with extraordinary people who truly care about their guests.”

“Loved the County Arms. Much better in comparison with some other like priced accommodation. Big well equipped clean room, loved the toiletries (will be purchasing some of those), all provisions high quality. Staff helpful. Only disappointed that both my choices on the restaurant menu were not available. Would definitely recommend and stay again if in the area.”
