Customer Review Summary
Diners most often return for the chicken kebabs, curries, and burgers, with frequent praise for the donner and chips platter as a hearty, flavorful share. Several highlight the tandoori mixed grill as well cooked and full of flavor, while the chicken tikka masala and mushroom Dhansak also earn mentions for taste and vegan-friendly handling. Close behind, the chicken pakora and onion bhajis are singled out as spot on. A recurring complaint centers on portion size and value, with reviewers calling out small wraps, tiny samosas, and high prices for what arrived. Others describe incomplete or incorrect orders, including missing cheese or wrong sauces, and one account of inedible lamb curry due to gristle. One reviewer reports food poisoning after a meal. A few note overly spicy mild dishes and oily rice with unexpected vegetables.

“We've been ordering our occasional lazy night treat from spicy bites for 10 years now. We've never had a bad meal from here. Good burgers, great chicken kebabs and delicious curries. Recommended!”

“Ordered twice never again. Incomplete order and they were rude on the phone when trying to correct. Plenty of better local take aways I will be spending my money in in the future”

“Top place and lovely fresh food. We travelled from Huddersfield, Taz and the staff looked after us really well. Would highly recommend the donner and chips platter it's enough for 2 people and soo tasty. 10/10 food”

“Lovely tasty food. Phoned through order and they were very accommodating and helpful to my vegan meal, I had 100% trust that it would be vegan as they had good knowledge. Chicken tikka masala, burger, mushroom Dhansak (vegan), all very …”

“Wouldn’t recommend or order again. Food is bland and expensive 2 very small samosas for £4 is ridiculous. Wouldn’t provide a refund after I asked for salad and sauce in a wrap and it came dry for £7 and told me I wouldn’t get a refund because I put it in the bin so his employee couldn’t come and collect it😂😂😂 Won’t be ordered here again and won’t ever recommend it. Also got food poisoning”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
