Customer Review Summary

Reviewers return most for the beer range, singling out craft beers and ciders on tap, hand-pulled cask real ales, and a wide spread of bottled continental beers. Close behind are the cider and whisky selection, cocktails for non beer drinkers, and pork scratchings at the bar. Several describe a friendly atmosphere, a great barman, and polite staff, and one tourist says they were welcomed warmly and offered a taste test of the craft beer. Food draws mixed notes: one reviewer says the daily food menu has gone in favour of ad-hoc collaborations with local food providers, while another had a breakfast bap overfilled with mushrooms. Bring your own vinyl DJ sessions on Sunday afternoons earn praise as a great vibe. The one sharply negative visit came from a group of four who arrived late on the night before Christmas Eve and were told last orders had been called half an hour earlier, at 9.30pm. That reviewer also describes soaking windows and a smell of damp toilet.

“10pm night before Xmas eve. Four people in for a passing pint on a night out. “Sorry mate, I called last orders half an hour ago” Sorry, but next you will be crying that nobody goes to the pub anymore before you close down for good. Good job spoons is around the corner. What sort of pub is calling last orders at 9.30pm? Place has a moisture problem. Windows are soaking and it smells like a damp toilet.”
