About Grazing Cow at Lawley
Grazing Cow at Lawley is a pub in Telford on Gresham Dr, open daily. A large fireplace sits at the center of the main room, which also holds shelves of books, mirrors and lamps, with floor-to-ceiling windows along the walls. The pub is spacious and includes a quiet restaurant area, where a press-a-button system calls the team to the table. The menu runs to steaks and lasagna among the mains, with dessert to follow, and a three-course lunch menu is offered at a fixed price. Families can use the outdoor play area, which has a slide, a bridge and climbing bars for children. Thursday quiz nights and a pool table give the pub an evening draw beyond dinner.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the table service, with one server described repeatedly as attentive, welcoming and friendly, including to a four-year-old who asked her all kinds of questions. Close behind is the food, called hot, tasty and well presented, with the lasagna and the desserts named as good. One party with several allergies was assured at every step that it was no problem. Diners also mention a button for table service, a new pool table and Thursday quiz nights. The criticism is specific. One lunch diner found the mains bland, likened to hospital food, and wanted more seasoning. Another asked for steaks medium rare and received medium or medium well. One couple seated at the back waited a long while for anyone to take their order while staff cleared tables, then left to eat elsewhere. One birthday guest had the chef write Happy Birthday in chocolate sauce on the board that served her dessert.

“My wife and I decided last to come here to eat today 26th July evening. We've been here many times before and it was decent. Plus we live locally so It was a convenient place for us to sit down to eat. It wasn't very busy at the time but we was put at the back. We saw there was little staff and understood maybe with short staff they were maybe busy with work load. After my wife and I decided what we wanted to eat and drink we continued to while for quite a while for the staff to take our order, but the staff seemed not interested in taking our orders. They were more interested in clearing tablets even though there were plenty of empty tables. We didn't want to make fuss over this therefore we decided to leave and eat elsewhere since the staff wasn't interested in taking our orders. Sadly, we was disappointed how with little amounts of customers, the staff still not interested in looking after customers that do go in.”

“Came in for lunch with family, male bartender who served us drinks was jovial and had a good laugh. Was sat down and had to order at the bar for food. Food took a bit to arrive and I was disappointed with my main, was rather bland, akin to hospital food. I was not too pleased with it. Dessert was rather nice so points for that. Other people on the table said theirs was not great either, however some dishes (like the Lasagna) were quite good Mains need a lot more seasoning and brightening up, perhaps a shuffling of the menu.”

“Served by Jess who was attentive and helpful, even in the horrendous heat she was working in. Food was brought out in a decent time, not so fast it seems suspicious but quick enough! She was very welcoming and friendly to my 4yo who asked her all kinds of questions. Thanks”

“A warm reception as we didn’t book but were given a table straight away. Jess was excellent, took our drinks order promptly and food order also. Food arrived in good time, steaks were asked to be MR but all seemed more Medium/Medium Well. Condiments were asked for and provided. We were left to enjoy and chat and Jess arrived promptly to clear plates and ask for desert options. An excellent example of a local that actually provides good food and service to its guests. Well done and see you again soon.”

“We had such a fantastic experience at The Grazing Cow while celebrating my son’s birthday. The team really pulled out all the stops to make it special for us. The food was absolutely amazing—huge compliments to chefs Ben and Harley for such incredible dishes. Nikkie provided outstanding service throughout the evening, attentive and friendly, and Sarah the landlord has clearly created a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. We also loved the little touches, like being able to press a button for table service—it really adds that extra level of care. The new pool table is a great addition too! Overall, a brilliant night with great food, excellent service, and a lovely atmosphere. Thank you all for making it so special—we’ll definitely be back!”

Good to know
“The Grazing Cow in Lawley, Telford, is bright and modern on the outside and wonderfully traditional inside. An impressive fireplace is at the heart of the pub. Shelves full of books, pictures, mirrors, lamps, curtains and carefully placed tasteful ornaments give us a homely but stylish look and feel. Floor-to-ceiling windows let natural light flood in. When the sun’s shining, eat alfresco on the patio. Coming over for a family meal? We have an outdoor play area with a slide, bridge and climbing bars for little monkeys. We want you to have your meal the way you want it. Being good? That doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a little comfort food. Take a dish like steak, swap the fries for a large salad and you’ve got a delicious meal that comes in...”
