About The Dockle Farmhouse

The Dockle Farmhouse is a pub on Bridge End Road in Swindon that also serves as a breakfast restaurant. Guests come as they are, with tables taken on a walk-in basis rather than by reservation, so a morning meal or a drink later in the day both work without planning ahead. Alongside its work as a pub, the kitchen's breakfast service gives the place a second role earlier in the day.

Customer Review Summary

The main complaint is slow or poorly handled food. One reviewer waited over an hour and received a rock hard burger bun, rubbery pasta and a barbecue sauce that had turned to jam, with no apology. Another sent back lukewarm chicken and cold chips and got a warm meal an hour later after chasing it, though complimentary drinks softened that visit. A few mention a slightly dirty toilet and tables needing clearing more often.

“Not the best of experiences, went for some quick food. But chicken was lukewarm and chips were cold, returned the order back and finally got a warm meal back an hour later, after chasing yet again. The experience was somewhat mitigated after complimentary drinks were offered.”

“It's huge but that doesn't detract from the service & quality. It is a Wetherspoons so you know what you're getting and it's very good quality for the price. Friendly service. Great garden with a few trees in one part for shade, and parasols.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely wonderful stay! The Dockle Farmhouse is such a beautiful, peaceful place with so much charm and character. Everything was spotlessly clean, beautifully kept, and felt warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious fresh, tasty, and high quality. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxing break, surrounded by lovely countryside. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would love to come back again soon! Highly recommended to everyone! 😊”

“We visited The Dockle Farmhouse to watch the FIFA match, and it was a great place to catch the game. The atmosphere was brilliant, with plenty of TVs showing the sports, making it an enjoyable experience. But would suggest a bigger one as the Hall size and TV size doesn’t really fit! Small tv on a large space. The food and drinks were good, and although it took a little while for our order to arrive, the overall experience made up for it. The staff were friendly, the vibe was excellent, and we’d definitely come back to watch live sports again.”
