Quick info
About The Farmers Arms
Sunday lunch at The Farmers Arms comes with the roast vegetables carried to the table in a tureen, with enough veg to pass around and a nut roast for anyone skipping the meat. The pub sits on St Teilo St in Swansea and splits into a bar area and a separate restaurant room, so diners can be seated in either, with staff bringing food out to the table. For occasions such as Mother's Day, a carvery runs instead, offering a choice of meats along with puddings. The bar side stays a local one, with darts and pool in regular use, and beer served alongside a short menu of around eight dishes. Dogs are welcome in the pub. It opens daily, and has reopened under newer management after a spell of closure.

Customer Review Summary
The Sunday roast draws the most attention, with one diner calling the Sunday lunch the best around and singling out the gravy, another praising a Mother's Day carvery as piping hot with plenty of choice, and a first timer describing a nicely presented nut roast with a tureen of vegetables. Close behind is the welcome, several describe staff as polite and obliging, including one group sent home with a takeaway pudding when they were too full for dessert. A raspberry woo woo cocktail and bubblegum ice cream also earn mention, as does a friendly pub dog. The complaints are substantial, though. One family found their Sunday dinner poor, with hard, lumpy mash and quantity over quality. Another visitor was told to sit in the bar by a man in the restaurant they found rude, and one reviewer reports being overcharged for two drinks and confronted by a regular late one night. A pint drinker also found the beer choice limited, and several note it reads as a locals venue built around darts and pool.

“We were only in the area for a family funeral and only stayed for a pint though the menu looked ok for a snack. Pleasant fella behind the bar. A bit limited on choice of beers. Quiet for a Friday evening and those present were regulars enjoying their darts and pool. Seems to be more of locals venue but pleasant enough.”

“Had a really bad experience recently in this pub. I visited a friend who lived locally and we popped in for a quick drink at 10pm one weekend night. They overcharged me for 2 drinks and a regular got in my face straight away and started …”

“Rachel and Kayleigh are assets to the company and community. Pub mascot Simba is friendly and cute. Wonderful place to be. Raspberry woo woo cocktail is outstanding and bubblegum ice-cream is to die for. Need to add macaroni cheese to the menu”

“Really surprised at how downhill this pub has gone. It really does not look like it does in the pictures. Man in the restaurant was quite rude got told to sit in the bar which was really rough. Disappointed. Bar lady pleasant but not the place to take family to.”
