  “Came as a group of four for a birthday meal on 21/08/2026. The atmosphere is nice and the food was decent. However, had to leave one dish as it was so chewy (teriyaki beef). The restaurant was understaffed but the staff were generally friendly and trying their best. I’m leaving fewer stars due to the following: I had supplied a cake and candles for it to be brought out after our meal for the person’s birthday. I appreciate it is a courtesy to have a cake brought out by a restaurant, it’s something I always appreciate. However, the way it was handled was silly. We asked to bring the cake out, and we expected they would have lit the cake and brought it over as usual. Instead, the male staff member put the unlit cake and box of candles on our table and asked if he should put the candles straight in the cake “without stoppers”. He mentioned he was worried “wax would get on the cake” which I appreciate. However, he completely ruined the surprise/excitement. He seemed completely oblivious he had done this, which was very annoying.”

  “THE best in Sunderland for me. Fantastic range of drinks/cocktails and quality food. Staff always great. On this visit we had G&T’s and Margaritas to drink. For our food we had a couple of starters/sharers (oh wow the olives !!!!) and three tacos each - the highlight being the Monkfish / Bahji which we have had before. All served promptly and the amount certainly enough to satisfy. Highly recommended.”

  “My son and i were very much looking forwards to this as we both really enjoy good Mexican food... such a disappointment :( Fresh chicharonne is always amazing.... but what we got served here was simply that cheap pork crunch you buy in massive sacks for 79p at herons, sprinkling some chives on top doesnt really hide that, no seasoning no salt seemed to be simply tipped out of the packet and into a bowl. Topped with tajin and smoked salt according to the menu. Lamb black garlic, gringo taco, looked really good but unfortunatley tasted of nothing but lamb quite bland other than that. Crispy squid...not available, ok soft shell crab... not available... cod and nduja? Yes! This was decent nduja was nice and smoky and the cod was a nice chunk with a good thin crispy batter The black garlic mushrooms that are raved about on their socials was served pretty much after we have finished everything else, semi warm the mushrooms came across as undercooked and soggy very bland, most of this got left. The special was a beef chilli gringo the mince was good, but again sadly devoid of any seasoning or spice. The standout was the crispy chicken my son chose, nice batter on the chicken and the slaw was fantastic. Shame as not really why you'd normally go for in tacos House seasoned fries, nice and crispy.. but no seasoning? Common theme across most of the food was simply underseasoned with a lack of spice and flavour. For the money 5-7 per taco and the sides (a tad over 50 quid in total) we both left utterly deflated and my son was asking if we could get more food somewhere else! I see no reason to go back for food. Very expensive for both portion size and quality They do seem to have a very good tequila menu and some of the cocktails looked very nice, I was driving so.not drinking but I think this may be more of a drinks place than a food one.”
