About Lavender Bakehouse & Coffee Shop
Lavender Bakehouse & Coffee Shop is a coffee shop in Stroud, at 20 London Rd, with a separate shop upstairs selling children's clothes, books, toys, crafts and gifts. That gives visitors a place to browse for presents and children's items after their coffee. The kitchen serves a full English breakfast with sourdough bread, along with grilled sandwiches and filled croissants, including ham and brie. For something sweet, there is a blackberry and apple sponge cake. Dogs are welcome, so visitors can bring a pet along.

Customer Review Summary
The blackberry and apple sponge is the most repeated draw, described as moist with plenty of fruit, and one reviewer stopped in again later the same day for a slice to take home. Close behind are the grilled sandwiches, including goats cheese with walnut and onion, and tuna and cheese, served with salads and called delicious. A filled croissant, the Reuben, Eggs Benedict, jacket potato and pancakes also earn praise, along with a cappuccino, a chai coffee and a milkshake. Staff are described as friendly and polite, and several mention the shop upstairs selling children's clothes and gifts. The main complaint is portion size against price. One diner found the shakshuka a small bowl with a thin poached egg, and another said a ham and brie croissant had hardly any brie and that portions are shrinking. One reviewer waited a long time for drinks while staff chatted behind the counter, and another was unimpressed by the bacon with the Eggs Benedict. Still, more than one visitor left with a slice of the sponge or a goats cheese and caramelised onion tart boxed up to take away.

“Lavender Bakehouse looked cute & popular as we drove past so decided to walk to visit it from where we were staying 1.5 miles away. Very glad we did - had a wonderful filled croissant and grilled sandwich, both served with a mixture of delicious salads. Everything looked amazing but too full for more, so took away a buttercream blackberry & apple sponge and a goats cheese & caramelised onion tart! Venue very popular with walkers and cyclists. Amazed to find a shop hidden away upstairs selling lots of children's clothes etc and also a function room.”

“Coffee shop with a very pleasant atmosphere on the road leading to the small town of Chalford, in the Cotswolds. I tried the Eggs Benedict, which was very good, although I was not very impressed with the quality of the bacon. The cappuccino was excellent!”

“I was surprised at how buzzing this place was given the quality of food, venue and service. I ordered a shakshuka, a favourite dish of mine, price was £10.95…so my expectations were high, only to be dashed moments later when it came out. It was a small bowl, with a 3rd of a tin of chopped tomato’s in it. A weirdly thin poached egg and maybe a dash of Tabasco and a tiny portion of chives…(see photo) The place was super tired looking, dust hanging from the ceilings and in need of a paint job and when you are looking around it appears to be trying to be like domestic science. Wee shop upstairs selling various Nick-naks but much smaller scale. Toilets were clean although soap dispenser was out of order…much like the food ☺️ I won’t visit this cafe again as I feel like it’s very tone deaf (looking at other reviews) and taking advantage of its clientele. There are a million way better cafes with better pricing in nailsworth, just a short drive down the road .”
