About Newark Park Tea Pavilion

Newark Park Tea Pavilion is a coffee shop in Wotton Under Edge, run from a hut on the lawn at National Trust Newark. Peacocks wander the lawn and around the tables, so a visit to the pavilion comes with them nearby. The menu covers cakes, cappuccino and ice cream, alongside teas, coffees and simple food. A marquee with tables and chairs stands next to the hut for extra room to sit. The pavilion sits within the grounds of Newark Park, a National Trust property.

“Standard selection of national trust cakes and drinks. Most staff are helpful, polite and charming. One staff member is obnoxious. Lovely National Trust property soured by this experience.”

“Legend has it that years ago, there was a cafe indoors, but someone bashed their head on a low beam, so facilities were moved outdoors. These days there is a hut with good service of basic food, drinks and ice cream. You can take that either to an outside garden table or into a large tent. You may get a little wet on the way if it is raining, but it's comfortable inside the tent.”

“Lovely cake and cappuccino sitting on the lawn area. Very peaceful when we visited mid week. Added bonus was the peacock's mulling around us. Beautiful birds. Such a pleasure to see them so close.”

“The Tea Pavilion on the lawn at the National Trust's Newark Park has outdoor seating and serves take-away teas, coffees and light snacks. There was a handy marquee with tables and chairs next to the pavilion when we visited in the autumn, which provided welcome shelter from the cool breeze on the day. It was a comfortable and relaxing environment in which to enjoy our refreshments. Whilst only a modest catering facility, it proved entirely adequate for us and no doubt reflects the scale of the property.”
