Quick info
About The Foxhound
The Foxhound builds its week around Sunday lunch, a pub on Hot Ln in the village of Biddulph Moor, Stoke On Trent. The roast chicken comes with roast, new and mashed potatoes together, plus bread sauce, and Sunday tables have to be booked in advance. Reservations are recommended at other times as well. The bar pours real ales on tap alongside local beer and a few gins. Outside the main building, a marquee gives space for outdoor dining, and dogs are welcome. A step-free entrance keeps the pub reachable for visitors with mobility needs. Doors open daily, evenings only. The pub came back into service after around two years closed.

Customer Review Summary
Warmth is the thread running through nearly every account here, with drinkers and diners alike singling out the friendly staff, landlords and owners, and one visitor describing the pub as the beating heart of the village. Close behind is the ale, four real ales on at one visit, local beer and a few gins, with several calling the prices reasonable. Food draws its own praise: a roast chicken Sunday lunch with bread sauce, a stuffed pepper, and a huge slice of lemon drizzle. The caveats are small and scattered. One roast came with three kinds of potato and, in that diner's view, too little gravy, and another visitor arrived while the kitchen was being done up and found no food on. Reports on dogs conflict, with some describing the pub as dog friendly inside and out while another was seated in the marquee under a no dogs indoors policy and still found it cosy. Several note Sunday lunches need booking.

“Friendly local pub with four real ales on plus plenty of other options. No food available as of 1/8/25, apparently doing up the kitchen so I guess when you’re here you need to update with another review. Nice people, nice well presented local pub. Would definitely recommend. Cheers”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
