About Golden Orient
Golden Orient is an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet restaurant in Staffordshire, at 7 Hurricane Cl, serving a spread of hot dishes that includes chicken wings. The evening buffet has a broader selection than the daytime one, adding duck and pancakes and a chocolate fountain. A salad bar sits alongside the hot food, and the dessert selection covers puddings, jelly pots and fruit. Vegetarian and vegan hot options are limited, so the hot dishes lean on meat. Drinks are brought to the table by the staff, with a bar selection to choose from.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the buffet's variety, with several praising fresh, hot dishes, good value and quick drink and table service. Diners single out the evening spread, with one advising the evening meal for the broader selection that includes duck and the chocolate fountain. The takeaway buffet boxes also draw praise. One family describes staff who comforted a crying toddler and gave her a toy on leaving. The complaints are just as specific. Vegetarians and vegans report only a few hot options and fruit as the sole vegan dessert, and one found three vegan hot dishes disappointing for the price. Others describe lukewarm, overcooked food, missing duck, prawn toast and chow mein, and puddings of supermarket Swiss roll and small pots of jelly. One diner reports undercooked chicken wings that staff took back and a hoisin sauce that tasted off. Another says the price for two adults and a child has climbed too high to afford.

“Rating 2 star not on food or atmosphere, this is a cost issue. The price for 3 people has sky rocketed. Cannot justify over £80 for 2 adults and child. Sorry we love the place but simply cannot afford those prices now”

“Great if you have a big appetite. Superb for my step sons birthday. Everyone enjoyed it immensely. Good selections of food. Good value. Their takeaway buffet boxes are an inspired and wonderful idea. Good bar selection and ace table service.”

“We came for a meal last night for my birthday and had a fantastic meal. Our 2 year old woke up with post nap rage when we arrived Adam’s she wouldn’t eat or sit or stop crying and the staff where so kind and understanding. The staff came and spoke to her passed her toys to play with and sat us on a table a little out the way so we didn’t feel like we were ruining everyone else’s experience. Eventually with the help of a new toy my daughter settled down and we all enjoyed a fantastic meal. The drink service was quick and everything on the buffet was beautifully cooked and tasty. The staff worked tirelessly to ensure everything was stocked up, fresh and any spillages were cleaned. We were really impressed and everyone enjoyed the experience. When we went to leave the lovely staff gifted my daughter the toy she’d grown attached to during our meal and truly made her evening. Thank you to all the staff- we will definitely be back with Mr.Squirrel!”

“This place is great, good selection of food with good service. I would advise to go for the evening meal prep though as there is a broader selection which includes duck and the chocolate fountain.”

“Chicken wings were bleeding raw, told the lady who snatch it from me and told me to get something else. Lights barely work, we arrived at 7ish and had to wait around as everything was empty, attempted duck and pancakes the lady passed me a sauce that tasted like vomit. Was a weird how water like texture and had white bits in was definitely it hoisin sauce. Very poor first and last time, they then tried to say we had an extra person than we did and charge us for more.”
