Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly staff, with several describing chatting with the people behind the counter and feeling welcomed by the owners. Close behind are the cakes: one reviewer had a vegan, nut free birthday cake made for a large group, another praised detailed birthday cupcakes, and a regular calls the coffee and cakes always delicious. On the savoury side, diners mention a tuna panini, a ham and cheese panini and curly fries to share, along with breakfast and lunch described as good food at reasonable prices. The garden out the back comes up as a draw on warm days, and reviewers also like the signage and the atmosphere, with one noting it gets very busy. The one recurring caveat is the coffee, which two reviewers call only ok or something that could be better. One reviewer notes that parking outside is free for two hours, and the same visit ended with a friendly chat and a couple of cakes bought to take away.

“A lovely little cafe. Pleasant place to eat and staff very nice and helpful. Good food well prepared.”

“We needed a vegan nut free 30th birthday cake for 40 people that would be substantial enough to travel to Stratford (from Southend) on the train. The cake was beautiful and very tasty, it was a large cake but it all got eaten. We were also given a substantial box so the cake wouldn’t get spoiled on its journey. Thank you so much”

“Solid cafe with good quality food, nice service and a good atmosphere. Coffee could be better, but that’s a UK wide problem.”

“I usually take away my coffee there, but sometimes I stay in, especially on a nice, warm day as they have a lovely garden space. Coffee and cakes are always delicious and staff is always very friendly, service is great. It is always a pleasure to come to grab a coffee there 😊”

“Stopped here for a coffee and some breakfast. Nice atmosphere. Friendly polite service. Food was good. Prices reasonable. Coffee was ok. Access was easy for all. Parking outside free for 2hrs. If your passing and local it's a nice stop for breakfast or lunch. I would recommend”
