Customer Review Summary
Eggs Benedict is the dish reviewers raise most, and opinions split sharply. One reviewer praises it with asparagus and crispy bacon, served hot and well presented with a very good hollandaise. Another reports it arrived without the asparagus listed on the menu and with undercooked poached eggs smothered in sauce, and says they were told that is how the eggs are done, then accepted a single redone egg. Close behind, diners praise generous portions, huge jacket potatoes, a Ploughman's, a bacon burger, and cod in a light batter. Others single out the milkshakes, the coffee, and nuggets a fussy child enjoyed. Friendly, helpful service and reasonable prices come up repeatedly. A second complaint describes an omelette burnt outside and uncooked in the middle, oily hash browns and chips, and bread that was too thick, with no one asking how the meal was and no money taken off the omelette. One reviewer notes the cheese on the bacon burger was grated rather than processed, and said the burger was excellent anyway.

“Visited Southend today, ended up walking to "the end of the main strip". We decided to get a drink and some food and this was the place in view. What a nice place, definitely worth the extra 5 minutes walk to get there from the main town. Food was good, service was good, the people working there are polite and quite happy to have a natter with you. Can't fault it at all, and it will definitely be the place we go when in Southend. I had a bacon burger and chips, only unfortunate occurrence was that I wanted a bacon cheeseburger, but they used the quality grated cheese, whereas I prefer the cheap crap processed cheese!, but the burger was excellent without the cheese. It's also a motorbike friendly cafe where you can safely park outside. Thanks, glad we stopped there.”

“I went with my partner and ordered a decent amount of lunch. Everything was done to perfection and tasted lovely. I was honestly really surprised of the price they're charging. When I next come to South end, I will 100% be dining here again.”
