Customer Review Summary
Reviewers who praise the cafe point most to the bacon roll, called delicious by one diner and enjoyed by a celiac diner, with a sausage, bacon and egg sandwich, a red velvet muffin and iced drinks also singled out. Coffee splits opinion, described as good and as equally good decaf by some, and as weak and tasteless by another. Close behind the praise comes a run of kitchen and menu complaints. Several report items unavailable, including mushrooms for a mushroom and avocado order and tuna for a cheese and tuna ciabatta, and one says half the menu was missing. Others describe cold porridge, soggy chips with a fish finger ciabatta, and a long wait for two breakfasts while staff looked for eggs. A reviewer says the kids menu now offers only sandwiches, and another suggests arriving around noon to beat the queues. One reviewer says a Colin the Caterpillar Frappe arrived without the chocolate Colin, sprinkles or cream, and a refund came only after raising it.

“Dreadful lunch today, shocked at how poor it was given its M&S. Half the menu wasn’t available and service was lack lustre at best. Coffee was disgusting, tasteless and weak. Fish finger ciabatta was dire, horrible fish fingers, no butter in the tiny bun and the chips were soggy and tasteless. Will never eat here again. Do better M&S!!”

“Would have rated higher but had snobby short female server deliver food and then tell us we couldn’t eat a cookie we’d bought from their food hall. Thanks for bringing a miserable atmosphere to a date day out. Won’t be eating here again.”

“For adults the food is fine, but recently the kids menu has changed so only offer sandwiches and not hot food which is very disappointing”

“Wish I could say I was impressed with the food at Marks on Friday, unfortunately the porridge my daughter ordered was cold, although it looked really nice with fruit berries on top. My sausage sizzler was ok, but i thought was quite expensive for two not all that large sausages in a roll. Know they are busy but i feel the people in the kitchen should make sure the food is hot before it goes out. Know it could have been sent back but sometimes its not worth the hassle. Just think twice about ordering it again. Coffee was good.”

“Had a lovely time here today. Me and my family had a quick bite before shopping and it was very nice. Tia took our order and made sure we have everything. She was very welcoming and incredibly friendly. Thank you Tia. You are a true asset to the cafe. 🙏”
