Customer Review Summary
Sandwiches are what reviewers return to most, with the Casper, packed with roasted chicken, mozzarella, avocado, sun dried tomatoes and pesto, drawing the strongest praise for its size and its pesto. The chicken club comes close behind, called the best locally by one reviewer and fantastic by another, and a tuna cheese melt with a side salad also earns a mention. Scotch eggs, one described as quite large, along with cakes, a hot cross bun and homemade sausage rolls and quiches, round out the food. Coffee is described as strong, proper and made with good beans. Reviewers also single out the produce on sale, including a garlic mayo and local ham, and one describes ordering a delivery. Service is repeatedly called friendly and welcoming, with the team described as willing to do anything asked. Several mention regulars who know each other and an owner who spends time chatting with customers. No complaints appear in the reviews. One visitor who parked right outside the door said they would be regulars if they lived nearby.

“We were in the area and looking for somewhere local for lunch. We ended up at Windmill Stores, parked right outside the door and what a find. I wish we were local as we’d be regulars if so. Lovely choice of food and drinks, everything we had was delicious. Such a friendly and welcoming team, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend and I hope we get to visit again.”

“Wow !! What an amazing little coffee shop !! This is a real hidden gem of an establishment !! I visited on the recommendation of a friend and wasn't disappointed. There are a range of teas and coffees, as you would expect. But what really makes this place, in my humble opinion, is the food - and the service. There are a range of sandwiches, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, quiches, etc. All are homemade and very tasty. My friend had a scotch egg, which was quite large. I had the tuna cheese melt. It was really very good. Both dishes came with a side salad. The atmosphere was really welcoming, and it seemed like there were a lot of regulars who seemed to know each other. The owner, Ben, was very engaging and spent a lot of time talking to customers (when not serving them). It's like a little community. All in all, this really is a hidden gem, and I felt honoured to have been accepted into it. Thank you, Ben. Very highly recommended...”
