Customer Review Summary
Coffee is the most frequent draw, with reviewers praising brilliant latte art and handcrafted drinks from a proper barista, though one says the oat latte has declined since the oat milk changed. Food gets a more mixed response. The carrot cake is called divine, and the pastries and breakfast earn strong praise, along with a bakery counter selling sourdough and brioche. The Mexican Benedict, however, is described as lacking seasoning and leaving one diner hungry. A few find the room buzzing, bright and airy, but others mention small tables, high prices and a very noisy space. Service is the recurring complaint, called blunt, hit and miss and chaotic, with confusion over table service versus ordering at the till, eggs arriving cold, and limited vegetarian choices beyond vegan items. One reviewer credits a new manager with a warmer welcome and quicker bill. Two separate reviewers describe a coffee order that went unnoticed until they chased it.

“They used to be nicer but going downhill. The oat milk has changed recently, so the oat latte is not as good as it used to be. The sandwich offer has always been a bit limited for veggie, fish or healthy options, and it hasn't improved really (still no salmon or hummus sandwich, always a lot of bacon and cheese). The salads are good, but rarely on offer. The service is always a bit of a hit and miss, not as friendly as it could be, and rushed. Sometimes they just ignore you. The new points system is complicated and wastes a lot of time at the till, as opposed to just simple cards and stamps. Expensive, of course. There are nicer cafés in Fiveways!”

“The flour pot breakfast is outstanding- I’d argue better than soho beach house. Proper barista hand crafted beverages so takes a little longer than a chain coffee but worth every second. Very jealous of the folk in five ways.”

“My partner & I visited over the weekend and the new manager has made such a difference! I live locally and not been for a while due to previous poor service. This time we were given a really warm welcome, checked in on by attentive and friendly staff and we didn’t have to wait ages for the bill which happened a lot previously. We made an effort to let the staff know how much of a nice experience we had - the new manager Mikey was really approachable and we had a great chat with him. We’ll definitely be coming back a bit more now that they’ve made some changes!”

“Table Service is chaotic and slow, (usually because they have not noticed you waiting for a seat as they chat around the corner - usually the guys chatting) and then food often arrives cold so eggs not nice. A lot of the staff are quite unfriendly and unwelcoming with a few exceptions. You feel like a nuisance. Noticed they have stopped Table Service completely after 2 now. Over priced bread based menus rigid menu system and not enough vegetarian breakfast items making you pay down the nose for extras. Also it’s really vegan not vegetarian, no vege sausage or vege bacon - halloumi and advocating ok but need traditional options too. To add it is an incredibly noisy environment and the acoustics are terrible which is odd as it used to be a bank with fantastic soundproofing!”
