Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the duck, with one calling the duck ragu the best he has ever had and another describing the duck breast as so soft it melted with each bite. Close behind are the fillet steak, said to be tender enough to cut with a spoon, the langoustine ravioli with its bisque, the lamb loin and the breadcrumbed eggs starter. Several also praise the wine list, and desserts are called a real highlight. Reviewers describe the room as lovely and elegant, with a friendly family feel, and a few mention attentive staff, including a wine suggestion that worked well. The recurring complaints are cost and service pace. Some find it expensive, and one felt six pieces of ravioli were costly though tasty, while the lasagne was only ok. Others found service abrupt or cold, and a birthday party left disappointed. One group felt rushed to order and finish, then was handed the bill and told the table was needed for waiting guests.

“Been meaning to try this place for years and it didn't disappoint. Fantastic service, amazing atmosphere and stunning food. Not the cheapest place by far but you get what you pay for. If yiu looking for somewhere special, this is it.”

“The food is very expensive £25 for 6 pieces of ravioli but tasty, the lasagne was only ok for £19.50. Service was quite cold, we came to celebrate an 18th birthday. We left feeling disappointed!”

“My husband absolutely loved his starter and duck ragu, calling it the best he’s ever had! I’m not quite as keen on my tuna starter—it’s a bit too sweet for my taste buds, but that’s just my preference. The restaurant is in a lovely spot, and the dining room is beautiful. The desserts were a real highlight, and we’re definitely planning to return for a date night, especially since they have such a wonderful wine selection.”

“By far the BEST food I have eaten in years. The fillet steak was the best I have ever had in my entire life, it could’ve been cut with a spoon it was that tender (not an exaggeration seriously)…… this place deserves a Michelin star in my opinion. The chef is an unbelievably talented woman - everything was absolutely cooked to perfection. Absolutely incredible - can’t wait to go back”

“First time visiting VeroGusto. A little on the expensive side but food very good. We were a group of 4 people booked for 6pm. Service on the whole was ok. Abrupt at times. But definitely felt rushed to order & to finish our meals. After an hour & 20 mins, we were bought the bill & told the table was needed as people were waiting! Just little things that would put us off returning & recommending.”
