  “I'd been wanting to visit Mama & Leonies for years; ever since I was a kid (nearly six years ago 😱) and I finally got the chance! I stopped by on a sunny afternoon with my mum for a quick bite. I wasn't after anything too heavy, so I ordered the quiche of the day, which was cheese and onion. My mum chose a jacket potato with a side of salad. The service was excellent from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly, happily explaining the day's specials and helping us choose from the menu. One of the highlights for me was the interior. It's packed with retro American style decor and vintage memorabilia, which is exactly what first caught my attention all those years ago. It has such a unique atmosphere, and the food definitely lived up to my expectations too. I'll definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu; there were so many dishes that looked delicious!”

  “Fitted us in on a busy Saturday night, and produced a very agreeable Carbonara and Lasagne, plus a lovely tiramisu, at very reasonable prices (compared to the fare down south). All the staff were very helpful and polite, and we really enjoyed our meal before catching the train for the long trek home.”

  “We were lucky enough to be at the Crucible for the Senior Snooker event and to see Ronnie live, but that's another story. We were staying for the evening session and needed an early evening meal. Mamas and Leonies is just around the corner from the Crucible Theatre and what a find !! Very busy with great atmosphere and friendly busy staff. They found us a spot and we had a lovely meal at a reasonable price for the city centre. Highly recommended and we will certainly be going again on our next Sheffield visit.”

  “I had the ravioli, the others had lasagne and scampi and chips. Also 2 garlic bread for the table. All I can say is it was delicious, service amazing and friendly, but we all finished everything. Completely delicious. Also I had the feta cheese salad. Delish”

  “We came yesterday for the first time after we had been to the lyceum (tue 30th dec). We did book . Food was amazing and staff was friendly . They even put a candle in our daughter's dessert and sang Happy Birthday . She couldn't stop talking about it when got home wants to come again next year . Also said the ice cream was the best she ever had.”

  “This restaurant has a homey-authentic atmosphere with traditional vibes. The food portions are generous, and everything was extremely delicious. I now understand the hype surrounding this place. I recommend booking well in advance, as it can get quite busy. The vegetable lasagna was certainly unique compared to what I’ve had before, but it was undeniably tasty.”

  “Came here for a meal for the first time with some friends, and I was very pleasantly surprised. I've known people that have been here and have recommended it, but I've never had the time to try it. The restaurant is a very small, authentic Italian. The staff were very polite, and the menu was very standard Italian cuisine. The pizzas were very tasty, and I even had the fruit pizza (very controversial I know, but I would definitely recommend it). They say they don't sell many fruit pizzas but I really enjoyed it, who'd have thought apple's, bananas, pineapple and raisins work on pizza! We also got some wine which we shared, and all beers/lagers are bottled. The mains were very tasty. My only critiques would be they tell you what the specials are on the board because if you're sat upstairs you wouldn't know, and they had some lovely vegan options I wish I saw, but by the time I saw the special board I'd already ordered. They also did custard with the apple pie which isn't mentioned, but I asked for custard and they did do it which is good. The desserts were also not piping hot so maybe that as well. But in general a very good and tasty experience”

  “This place is like a vintage family restaurant. Food was good, would call it American-Italian though. Quite tasty, generous portions, moderate prices. Lasagna was quite good, pizza was OK (can't really complain, but it wasn't amazing, maybe on the smaller side for a pizza), garlic mushrooms could do with more garlic (generous portion though) and scampi was good. Service was great! Edit: tried it again, food (soup of the day, garlic bread, pizza, Caesar's salad) was great and service was excellent once more! Very homey place.”
