About That place
On Chesterfield Rd in Sheffield, That Place is a coffee shop and breakfast restaurant open Tuesday to Saturday during the day, closed Mondays and Sundays. Orders are placed at the counter before finding a seat, and the pulled pork scotch egg is a recurring item on the menu. Breakfast options run to a breakfast burrito and a breakfast special with mushrooms, while the lunch side includes a ham hock and onion chutney panini. High chairs are on hand for families with young children. Seating is limited, and the cafe can fill up, so a wait at busier times is worth expecting. Bistro nights are held on select evenings and require booking in advance, unlike the rest of the week, which runs on a walk-in basis. Afternoon tea is also offered.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the breakfast and lunch plates, with the Scotch Egg, described by one as filled with pulled pork, coming up more than any other dish. Close behind are the mushrooms piled onto the breakfast special, one reviewer's breakfast burrito, and a small sandwich with extra thick bacon that arrived huge. Others single out a ham hock and onion chutney panini with homemade crisps, a sweet chilli chicken salad with leek, potato and cheddar soup, parsnip chips, a terrine and a brownie. Several call the portions generous and the prices low, and one notes the kitchen readily left out ingredients they disliked. The recurring trade-off is the space and the wait. Reviewers describe a small interior that stays full, and a few mention a high wait for food, though they accepted it given how busy the room was. One calls the coffee only ok. One reviewer suggests booking for the evening bistro night, and another who waited said they did not mind for freshly cooked food.

“What a great bistro night! Thank you so much! Fabulous service! Great food! One of the best terrines I ever had out and the brownie was just delicious! It was clear how much love, effort and thoughts had gone into the menu! Make sure you book and try to get a space!”

“Had an amazing breakfast here at That Place. Never seen so many mushrooms on one plate - and I love them! Fantastic little venue clearly run with love and quality at its heart! We highly recommend it and will definitely be back!”

“I had dinner here today and it was amazing. I had a cup of leek, potato and cheddar cheese soup then a sweet chilli chicken salad. It was beyond tasty. What was lovely was that everything was freshly made and they were very happy to leave out ingredients I didn't like. Very accommodating. The portions we're very generous and the prices very reasonable. It's only a small cafe but it has a relaxed friendly atmosphere. I will definitely visit again.”

“Had lunch here for the first time today. Such a lovely cafe, although busy as it’s so popular and fairly small inside. I had a ham hock and onion chutney panini which was served with coleslaw, salad leaves and some delicate home made crisps…absolutely delicious! Lovely hot chocolate too, all served with a smile and well priced. Would highly recommend and will definitely be going back there to try the many other tasty sounding options on the menu! Thank you so much!”

“What a little local gem!!! Visited randomly over the week as we were in the area looking for breakfast. The front window looks very modestly so we didn’t expect much. The cafe was surprisingly full as we arrived and was still full as we left, with more people coming in and out on a Thursday morning. The wait time was quite high but given how busy the cafe was, it was acceptable. The food - absolutely delicious. Good quality at a low price. The Scotch Egg is highly recommended!”
