About Husk Coffee

Walk in at Husk Coffee, a coffee shop on Cemetery Road on the London Road and Ecclesall Road side of Sheffield city centre, where orders are taken at the counter with no booking needed. Pour overs sit alongside the espresso-based drinks, and the counter team talks customers through the options and what to order. Food runs to banana bread, served toasted and in a vegan version, and croissants that include almond and savoury bread versions. Free Wi-Fi and charging ports mean a couple of hours of laptop work is easy to settle into. Opening runs Monday to Saturday with Thursdays and Sundays closed, and the later finish gives an afternoon window rather than a mid-afternoon shutdown. A step-free, wheelchair-accessible entrance serves visitors with mobility needs, high chairs cover families with young children, and dogs are welcome inside. Tea and coffee are also sold to take home.

Customer Review Summary

Close behind is the food. Diners name toasted and vegan banana bread, savoury bread croissants, an almond croissant, a cinnamon knot and soup. Several describe the place as a spot for working on a laptop, with free Wi-Fi and charging ports, and one student calls it good for catching up with friends. Reviewers also mention staying open into the post-work hours, unlike other independents, and no review raises a complaint. One reviewer says they have been going for over three years.

“Visited Husk Coffee in Sheffield and had a fantastic experience. The hot chocolate and cappuccino were both excellent - rich, smooth, and full of flavour. The savoury bread croissants were absolutely exquisite, fresh and perfectly baked. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, making the whole visit even more enjoyable. It's also the perfect spot to get some work done on your laptop, with free Wi-Fi and plenty of charging ports available. Great coffee, delicious food, a relaxed atmosphere, and excellent service - I'll definitely be back!”

“Such a lovely interior and just the most kind and informative barista ever! I don't know that much about coffee but I am particular about what I like. The barista was just the most accommodating in helping me find my perfect drink and I learned so much about coffee along the way! Also we just had the most lovely chat. 10/10”

“We found Husk during a family visit to Sheffield - the shop is tastefully designed and the staff were lovely - we had great toasted banana bread and it was fantastic to find Skylark coffee which tastes amazing and has such a positive story surrounding its production. Whenever we are in Sheffield again we will go back!”

“Been going to Husk for a just over 3 years now and it's one of the best cafés in Sheff. Jack is excellent at making coffee, whether it be a lovely pour over or my Husk favourite - a delicious chai latte! 🤗”
