Customer Review Summary

Chicken dishes anchor the praise, with reviewers singling out fried diced chicken with dried chilies, Yuxiang chicken and gongpo chicken, and describing the flavours as authentic and the portions as generous. Close behind, one diner calls a recommended beef dish tender, while others mention king prawns in sweet and sour sauce, chicken with cashews and a vegan hotpot. Several find the staff friendly and polite and say the food arrives quickly. Service draws the sharpest criticism, and it recurs. Some describe staff sitting together eating while customers waited unacknowledged, an unsmiling server, and takeaway customers handed packaging and left to pack their own food. One diner felt rushed after plates were cleared twice mid-meal and was surprised by a compulsory dine-in service charge that was not mentioned beforehand. Another found the mini hotpot small, and one said the crispy shredded beef arrived as batter with no beef inside. One group of four asked repeatedly for three more spoons and was brought only one.

“Extremely disappointing experience and one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. All the staff were sitting together having their food, with no staff rotation, while customers were left waiting with absolutely no acknowledgement. We had to call someone over just to place our order, and then were left waiting for such a long time with no update or anyone checking on us. When we decided to leave, there was no apology or explanation—just a shrug. If you don’t want to waste your time waiting, avoid this place. Absolutely unacceptable service. I’m giving one star only because the review requires at least one. Please don’t misunderstand — I genuinely wouldn’t give even that if it were possible. Never experienced such behaviour before. It honestly felt like they weren’t expecting or even wanting any customers. Just visit here if you want to experience disappointment and feel awkward.🤝”

“My friend and I entered the restaurant at around 5:40 pm and finished our meal by 6:11 pm. During that short time, an older member of staff came to our table twice while we were still eating to ask if they could clear our plates. Given how quickly the dishes were served, it’s hard to believe they were freshly prepared. We had no intention of leaving without paying, so I don’t understand why we seemed to be rushed throughout the meal. At the end, the restaurant charged us a mandatory £2 service fee. This charge was neither mentioned before we ordered nor clearly brought to our attention. When I asked if it could be removed, I was told that it was compulsory for all dine-in customers and that “we’ve always done it this way” — otherwise, they would not allow customers to dine in. If this is the level of service the £2 charge is supposed to cover, then I suppose that’s the service we received.”

“I am truly disappointed with the level of service at this restaurant. We were not welcomed by the staff (the restaurant was not busy at all, only my family of 4 and other table of 2). Despite us being warm and friendly when placing our order, the female staff member did not even manage a single smile throughout our visit. What made things worse was the takeaway experience. When we requested takeaway, we were simply handed the packaging and left to pack our own food — which I found quite unprofessional for a dining establishment. When I politely asked for a small plastic bag to carry everything, the staff member responded with a noticeably unpleasant attitude, as if it were an unreasonable request. I want to make it clear that I was a paying customer who spent my money at this restaurant — I was not asking for charity. Every customer deserves to be treated with basic courtesy and respect, regardless of the situation. I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the customer experience. Unfortunately, with service like this, it will be very difficult to retain customers. I will not be returning, and I would have a hard time recommending this place to others. Worst experience ever!!!”

“We came for lunch last Thursday at 12pm and the restaurant was quite empty. Everything looked good organising and clean. We ordered "mini hotpot" which was over £20 but the portion was not really big. Foods were pretty nice. But we felt annoyed with their service cause even we were group of 4 and that was noy busy hour at all, 2 waitresses just stood and saw us sometimes, then we asked for some spoons, and it was so ridiculous when one lady brought to us only 1 spoon, and we kept asking for 3 more but she still brought 1 and ignored us then with a unhappy face.”
